what distro are you using? if it's rpm-based (redhat/mandrake/etc). it's better to download the rpm file and then install that.
I need help on how to set-up php 4 on my linux server!

am a member already. is there a "linux-community" here in cebu? open-source software is generating a lot of attention abroad. we shouldn't be left behind!
by the way, i've almost completely switched to linux from windows already, and i encourage everybody to try it out! am just keeping my windows box for the games hehe.

yep, i do most of my work in linux. i just have to create scripts up front and then everythings automated. makes my life a lot easier.
what's OSSAPH? im already a member in the other two groups, just not very active though. i was thinking we could initiate developing our own cebu-based distribution (kinda like a bayanihan spin-off). this could help increase open-source awareness locally. plus this puts us in the front-line (locally) in terms of linux-proficiency, a huge advantage when (and if) local companies decide to switch to open-source hehe.![]()
Count me in with this topic Ive been using *NIX for 3 years time now..Right now im currently running FreeBSD, Gentoo and Mandrake and a WinXP box. I suggest that it would be cool if there should be a dedicated forum on Linux and not just a certain topic. Im new here and I love to help you guys to get through *nix
All the best
