Toyota Avanza 2013 13L Automatic - Gas Consumption Discussion

I have 1.3L manual 2013 Avanza and runs 9.5km/L up to 10km/L average, kung makabyahe ko balamban or danao even once a week, muabot ko 10.7km/L. full tank to rmpty to full tank gyud ang filling nako.

Kalas gyud na ang matic na gagmay ug displacement because tag-as kaayo inutongan niya specially during stop and go traffic. You'll be stepping more sa pedal hehe.. thats why i chose the manual.

@jojo_mouth - okay na kaayo na nga consumo kung 10KM/L. pro i think it will be more than 10KM pa kung sakto sa shifting during long distance drive. I agree na kalas dyud ang matic pro dili pod grabe ka kalas sa akoa karon. Murag sports car naman nig consumo .. pro naa pa gani sports car nga 8KM/L na naka turbo na nya naka stage 1 pa!

Ang 1.5 jazz sa akong migo kay mudagan man ug 9-9.5 city with mod trafik. unya iyang pure highway kay maka kuha cya ug 16. with aircon na permi ang dagan coldest setting. pero mao lagi pud inday kaayo ug drinayban.

i duno about avanza but a 1.3 engine may be underpowered but d pud ingon ana ka-kalas. or basin hataw sad kaayo ka mu drive? hehehe... btaw sir, ipa check na samtang under warranty pa.

update nya sir kung napatan-aw na nimo and unsa ang gibuhat nila to correct it. unya update pud nya sa imo konsumo.

bro murag dako ra kaau na og kaon dah!basin dako kaau nag bodega?naa ko SUV bro 4d56 tdi auto sad...6-7 km kung city..10-11 kung highway..fulltank gkan sa city abot moalboal fulltank nako. 8.7 liters ako natubil 90+kms

could be your driving habits also. like in my case, kung akoa wife magdala dali ra jud kaayo mahurot kay pwerte makatamak sa gas pero kung ako gani magdrive dugay jud mahurot.

TS...pag.calculate mo g.empty jud nimo ang gas tank? why man 13.3L ang full tank mo? fuel tank sa avanza kay 45L man....

if mag.base ka sa fuel gauge kay naa jud na inaccuracy....ang ideal style is full tank then cge mo gamit until mu.light na ang fuel tank light

@rikki - That's the positive thing about JAZZ, naa gani surplus na FIT na matic na mo 20KM/L dyud Liloan to FCabahug ang route daily.

Ang dili e confirm sa Toyota nga underpower ang 1.3 na Avanza and dili sila ka hatag ug straight answer kay ako ra daw ni reklamo, dili pod sila maka pakita or pa test ug lain identical unit just to prove our point. I'd say I'm a moderate driver, during my testing RPM maximum was about below 4500 with a moderate stepping of the gas acceleration.

@jeremy lin - mao dyud bro, palahubog kaayo. Stock 1.3L Automatic 2013 Avanza radyud cya na weight plus ako nga 190lbs.

I think driving habit is a factor pro below 4500 rpm nya moderate acceleration for me is not heavy on gas. Ang heavy sa gas is from 0kph to 80++kph on a go signal from mvelez capitol to escario all the way to gorordo stop light.. mga 6000++RPM na cya.
Sa ako pag test kay basta dili mo lapas 4500RPM, if lapas man gani buhian dayun nako gas pedal.
@m0nk18 - ideally prehason man dyud unta nako sa motor pag calculate ako mileage na horot horot sa gasolina ang tirada. pro hasola pod ma pagngan ta sa dalan.
I based my testing in 5 days same route same driving habits pro single click and mata2x full tank which yielded more or less the same result. Wala nako mo hurot sa full tank kay daghan kaayo factors ma apil. so sa ako pag test 13++ liters ang ako na tubil for an 80++ odometer reading based on the 5 days experiment nako.

Update:
Went to Toyota Boromeo but wala ang chief mechanic (don't know kinsa name) kay naa sa Manila nag training for 2 months so ended up speaking to a specialist that approaches you after you wait for your number to be called that for some reason talks about vios 13L engine's fuel efficiency and driving habits. Told him to not use vios as comparison since its entirely a different class. I told him cge lets test and zero down on the factors by:
1. Drive another identical unit (13L Auto Avanza) while I drive mine.
2. Full tank using same gas (unleaded) shell, same pump, choose one click or mata2x style.
3. Travel to north or south in a convoy as long as total distance covered is more or less than 100km.
4. Gas up in the same shell station and in the same pump, use same style chosen.

Equals wala mi preha nimo unit available for testing sir ... ana ko na sharo wala kay suod na Avanza owner diha na pwede nato embitaron for this experiment. try daw cya report sa head office and look for a customer or a friend na same unit and he will inform me daw after the holidays daw puhon.

di ba kaha ang gauge ang problema ani? kay full tank naman cya ug 13.3L which is gamay ra for a minivan/auv.

@nikkoburn sir, grabe2x jud na imo pag tamak. kay usually kung automatic kay by 2000-2500 rpm kay mu shift na cya to a higher gear. dili rana cya mu shift if naka detect ang ecu nga gusto ka ug kusug nga acceleration. try daw keeping the rev range bet 2000-2500. inday2x nga drinayban ba. hehe...
