Hey nobody cared anyway. Some even supported the EVAT and justified the increase as part of market forces. What more can a poor man like me can do? Increase more! Thats what you want. :mrgreen:

transport strikes are indeed of great inconvenience to the public that depends on public transportation whether or not the reason for calling the strike is just or not, which i think is brought about by lack of government support to and real control over this sector.. there is no free market as far as the setting of fares is concerned, just as operators and drivers cannot ply just any route of their choice.. the government sets the rate increase before it is implemented.

the things is, government seems more than hesitant to allow for fare increases.. since eventually, it is anticipated that once the increase will be taken effect, labor unions will demand an increase in the minimum wage.. chain reaction so to speak..
