Good morning/noon/everning istoryans.. I badly need some advice. I have shared my lifestory here: < https://www.istorya.net/forums/family...ce-advice.html > and by the way, I really appreciate the comments and suggestions and it was really a great help. But now I have another issue. It's between career and family. I know on my first post I wanted to move out but I decided to stay. I really just can't leave them.

My problem is, I was offered a promotion but will be based in Manila. It's like 6k increase from currently what I'm earning. My pay always, goes out to my family. I wanted this promotion badly so when I was asked if I'm willing to be permanent in Manila, i sort of accepted the offer. I have a month to decide whether to go or not. I conducted a survey about life in Manila but I'm getting negative responses. I've been there several times though but haven't experienced living there.

I weighed things out. And I'm like 50-50.

Does anyone of you here experienced life in Manila?

I know importante ang kwarta but if you look at the other side, there is promotion. Promotion nga pwede nimo ebutang sa imong resume for your next employer. Naka adto ko sa Manila once and stayed for a week. Di nako gusto mo balik didto. The place is so chaotic but if you're the type of guy nga gusto og adventure, well, tua tanan didto.

By the way, don't forget nga kusog kaayo na mo look down ang mga Tagalog. I don't know, if that's the way they treat people from the 'province?'

Base sa imong story TS, i think much better for you to try manila. This will force your family to think on how they run their lives. Sometimes man gud, pag wa nay saligan, kay diha pa makat-on jud og paningkamot.

Moving to another city (or even country) will never solve your family issue but will give you more time to weigh things & will also broaden your mind. basin pa diay DIdto jud imong swerte. Good Luck TS!

Dili man lalim mupuyo sa manila pero kung career grown jud imo target then go for it. kung diri cebu anad ka 5-15 min commute, didto maabtan ka oras hilabina kung wa kay relative na duol sa imo place of work nya if imo abangan layo sa place of work. ang traffic pa. pero kining mga negative, gamay ra kaayo nah, i would still advice anyone to try and live in manila for 1-2 years at least para lang pud naay growth, maka mature man jud didto. malay mo you will thrive there. IMHO ra nuon nah.

Manila- is crowded already, people there are surviving from lots of everyday problems. If you are earning 40-100k no problem but below 20k is a hell for a bread winner.

Dili gyud na basta2x ang pag adto nimo Manila TS. ang living expense palang nimo daan. ako dili ko musugot relocate manila oi unless naa ko 60% increase sa ako sweldo. Unless naa sila lain ipang provide like Relocation Allowance, Transportation allowance, food allowance. Basics ra gani na nga allowances.

think about nga na promote ka. Means more work imo buhaton in a new environment.

unsa pud diay imo field of work ug ang imong position sa new work nimo?

6k ra difference mo ad2 naka manila? ka gamay ra ana TS, can you PM me your current rate and job title, I can tell if you MAX nana siya diri sa cebu or not.

personally i wouldn't work @ manila kong naa pakoi choice diri sa cebu, if 6k ra difference pass nalang ko kai gamay ra kaau .

I need to spend for my rent, akong food, akong labada og magpa dala pako money diri cebu para naa ma gasto akong family. kong 6k ra LOL nalang jud.. unless wala koi work ma pugos jud ko ad2 manila.

after reading your previous thread, TS now I understand your situation... mao ni ako advise.

if kaya nimo sila biyaan (your family), without given them financial support... then go for it to liberate yourself. if not then its not worth-it kai ma double imo gasto.
