Default Re: KG be traded or remain a timberwolf?

Interesting deal. But I doubt this will happen.

First off, KG wants to be traded to a contender and Memphis is also on the rebuilding mode. So, maayo pa di na lang mag-trade kay mao ra ghapon ila style sa dinuwaan. They're 7-footers who play PF and they're known to have similar disappointments on their respective clubs.
memphis is not in the rebuilding mode. they ended up in the cellar because pau gasol was injured for most part of the first half of the season. if KG ends up in memphis, it would turn the grizzlies into a contender. (1) KG, (2) because of such poor record, memphis might end up either 1, 2 or 3 in the lottery and might possibly end up with either greg oden, kevin durant or yi jianlian. i could see memphis as a promising team in the future. just like the spurs in 1998. robinson got injured, spurs ended up deadlast and got tim duncan in the lottery. the year after, spurs became champions. KG and greg oden, might be some sort of david and tim..

    kwame or bynum?
if im the t-wolves, bynum would be the better pick, but i doubt if the lakers would let him go. andrew bynum had flares of greatness during the season, and the lakers might build around him in the future, they could groom him as one of their key players. though minnesota would clearly be in the losing end between the KG and odom+"whoever the lakers give", they might have no other choice, especially if KG would really opt out of minnesota. best choice? send KG somewhere else so t-wolves can come up with a better deal. but personally, i think tinsletown would be KG's first choice. kobe + KG.. that's sick!!

Mike Conley Jr. is legit for the Timberwolves, but the they have to unload either of the three PG's they have right now; Mike James, Troy Hudson and Marko Jaric
probably the best move minnesota could come up in the offseason, if KG would stay with them. the timberwolves needed a legit PG. marko jaric is too tall and slow for the PG, plus he's not a natural PG. he's better at 2-spot. troy hudson on the other hand is a shoot-first-before-pass PG, maybe the last thing on the t-wolves minds considering that they've got KG, davis and foye. they might keep mike james and take conley.

as for minnesota, they might also consider revamping their management. they are wasting much of the talent they have. they have KG and ricky davis plus young guns randy foye, rashad mccants and craig smith. their line-up is not that bad after all

memphis is not in the rebuilding mode. they ended up in the cellar because pau gasol was injured for most part of the first half of the season.
Memphis traded away Battier, a solid defender and contributor and got Rudy Gay, a promising young athlete with a solid work ethic and Stromile Swift, a seemingly good PF with a fat contract. Head coach Mike Fratello was fired and then Jerry West stepped down as the General Manager. The Memphis Grizzlies are on the market and is currently looking for someone to buy them.

The way I see things, Gasol's injury was not just a cause on why they're having their worst season but things have not been going their way right after a 0-12 record in the postseason but rather the absence of other factors that can make the Grizzlies better and start their winning ways in a legitimate way. A speculation about Gasol's departure was circling around the league in the mid-season, while the fat contracts of Swift and Cardinal are in their way for a possible improvement. That way, it was a resolution that the Grizzlies are heading out for a rebuilding mode. Whoever buys the team would actually want a refreshing start, new coach, new GM and new players that can counter the toughness of the Western Conference teams.

if im the t-wolves, bynum would be the better pick, but i doubt if the lakers would let him go.

though minnesota would clearly be in the losing end between the KG and odom+"whoever the lakers give",
Exactly. And why would they do it if its "clearly be in the losing end" for the Wolves to do this trade. The Wolves want a raw talent for their restart and if the Lakers really want KG that badly, they might not have a choice but to give to the Wolves' cravings on Bynum.

they might have no other choice, especially if KG would really opt out of minnesota
Opting out maybe could KG's choice but the Wolves wouldn't let that happen. KG has been with the Wolves for years and denying them for valuable talents in return wouldn't be the right thing here as well as not the rational idea for him to do.

bro, i like KG to be in LA not because of Kobe but because of the fact that KG is an unselfish player and he really needs someone who will compliment his passing game. someone who will slash for him and Kobe can fire an array of shots knowing that KG is a rebounding machine..annogon man sad gud ang talent ni KG karon sa minnesota kay the supporting casts are not really stepping up..

got this from an online source and this deal might work out pretty well..

    paul pierce to minnesota
lamar odom and kwame brown to boston
wally szczerbiak and michael olowakandi to los angeles lakers

KG and paul pierce had a very disappointing and unhappy 2006-07 season, probably bringing pierce to minnesota would be a perfect complement for kevin garnett. garnett, pierce and ricky davis will make minnesota's frontcourt a lot better and randy foye and mike conley at the 2 and 1 spot.

lamar odom and kwame brown on the other hand might be a good fit for the rebuilding celtics. odom at 6'10 and brown at 6'11 had problems dealing with bigger and stronger guys in the west. at least on the east they've only got shaq, dwight howard, chris bosh and rasheed wallace to worry about. this is also a chance for lamar odom to break out of his shell after being a shadow for kobe bryant

wally szczerbiak will add a potent shooter for the lakers, something LA really need. with kobe bryant attracting too much defense, wally could be a perfect second option, and not to mention in clutch moments, szczerbiak is not afraid to take those shots. he'll give kobe a lot of relief. olowakandi on the other hand, on the last year of his contract, could give the lakers a big body of the bench, a third man for the lakers center rotation after bynum and chris mihm. giving up kwame brown will give andrew bynum more playing time.

minnesota is just around the salary cap limit and adding up the $15M of paul pierce won't be that much of a problem. the t-wolves could let marko jaric and troy hudson go and trade them for players with expiring contracts next season.

i just dont want KG to leave minnesota..

Minnesota wants Odom and Bynum for KG, Not Brown
Indiana wants Odom and Bynum for Jurmaine Oneal.

Personally, I like KG will go to LA rather than Jurmaine. Both are warriors, but JO has some injury problems.

And about Wally and Candyman?? patay ang LA samot..hehehe
Kwame was the next Candyman...now, add pa gyud ang original sa ilang roster patay.

haha!! its clearly one-sided and clearly in favor for the t-wolves. though in the long run, it might do some good. olowakandi is good for only one more season and the lakers will not sign him after, just to free up some space. at least it will give bynum more chance to develop. who knows, without brown, bynum might log 15 points and 10 rebounds a night for the lakers..

KG's 2007-08 fate is still very unclear, whether he stays with minnesota or end up somewhere else. we might just as well have some fun creating trade deals for KG..

KG for odom and bynum, probably the best deal the t-wolves could land, but i dont think the lakers will give up bynum.

as for jermaine o'neal, rumors has it, JO might play for the new york knicks. still its uncertian, but very likely

Bynum actually became a starter this season for like 2-3 months (due to Kwame's injury) and his performance was declining. It show that kuwang pa gyud siya. Actually Bynum never really played a full season in his high school due to some injury. So his actual basketball game is on the NBA. So he really needs more experience and more work in his game. (Good thing Kareem is on his side)

I think right now, the Lakers are considering letting Bynum go. Since Kobe is not getting any younger, Phil is old with some health issues and Both wants to be the elite level for the next season. So in order for the Lakers to get a good quality player (KG, Jurmaine or whoever). They have to let Bynum go since everybody wants him when it comes to trading. So i expect a big trade coming from LA this off-season.
