Some folks would like to taste the water and maintaining a generic solution or simply pan out other solutions. The result is kaboommmmmmm it did not work cause of regional constrain. Sometimes too sluggish to implement some innovative idea which tend to stagnate the biz.
Every entrepreneur have different outlook, some gauge by monthly, quarterly and annually. I do believe that if you have a biz you need to time & gauge through then you can study what are the limiting factors to your biz. Henceforth you can time when will be the down-turn & up-turn of your biz. With this effect you can start down sizing your man power, cost cutting your operational expense & etc when the biz model start gearing down south. On the other hand, you'll synergize your team once the company gearing up north and by the time the up-turn starting.
