You can searth some phone to phone transfer tools to transfer contacts from iphone to android, or you can export your iPhone contact to computer first.

I can't believe that, in this time and age, somebody is still saving contacts to the phone's memory or sim.
Use any cloud solution. As people have suggested, Gmail or Outlook email accounts work without issues. Remember to set it to sync so it captures real time changes in your contacts list.
If you originally saved all of your contacts into your sim or phone's memory, simply copy them all into your chosen email account where all of your contacts should be saved.
For the not so techno savvy, you can use MCbackup, it is very easy to transfer contacts from ios to android or vice versa.
however that option requires the user to be connected to the internet, most smartphone nowadays offer bluetooth contact transfer... if not there is always an app to do that, saving it to cloud is a good idea if internet connection is near, but if not saving it in phone is most logical way.
