Symbian na cla duha.... it is a common misconception that there is a symbian and non-symbian among Nokia Phones these days (Sony Ericsson has their own firmware - I don't know what) 6300 is a series 40 symbian phone you can install only J2ME or JAVA apps. N70 is a Symbian series 60 phone you can install alot of apps SIS SISX J2ME and others.

series 40 is NOT symbian! its based on nokia OS.
only series 60, 80 and 90 are based on symbian OS (for nokia) and UIQ for s.e.!
hmmm, come to think of it, nokia has a UIQ version pala thats also symbian OS based hehehe
samsung is also releasing a new model with series 60 3rd edition FP1 interface with symbian OS vesion 9.2 (or was that 9.1?) hehehe

anways series 40, 60, 80 and UIQ is just the interface and are based on different OS...even different OS versions

open? as in open source?? no its not...
but its open in the sense that you can add applications to it aside from java apps and the fact that they largely support open standards

symbian is simply an operating system...think of it as WINDOWS on you pc.
