as per the reviews,Â* it was shot in China. Cesar Montano has three speaking parts and gets to fire some, too, and that's it. There is reason to believe that historically, the movie is accurate, having been based on two non-fiction books: William B. Breuer's "The Great Raid on Cabanatuan: Rescuing the Doomed Ghosts of Bataan and Corregidor" and Hampton Sides' "Ghost Soldiers." Now on to the good: although it was shot in China, the set pieces do look like they are from the Philippines, from the huts to hats and the plain landscape of the North. There is more than one Filipino actor in it; Rex Cortez, Joel Trinidad and Ryan Eigenmann are some of those who have bit roles.

Kita na ko. Well, I should say it is just an average movie. Ang centro sa istorya ang raid ra man gyud. Murag mild ra kaayo siya. I dont know because sa kadaghan na nako nakit-an nga war film, dili kaayo ni brutal. Mas brutal pa ang saving private ryan ug the pianist.

But the raid scene was really explosive, thrilling and gripping. The acting is better compared sa mga pinoy films. Lahi ra gyud ang acting sa Pinoy like Cesar Montano kung ang director foreigner. Natural. Pwede ma hollywood actor si Montano.

Its a film based on history so the filmmakers didnt quite embellished the story to make it more cinematic. I would say its a faithful reproduction of what transpired in Cabanatuan except for the romance angle of Joseph Fiennes and Connie Nielsen.

James Franco of Spider Man (kadtong anak ni William Dafoe sa Spider Man 1) has a major role in this film.

sayop ang review, ingon nga 3 speaking parts ra kay cesar. he had 7 speaking parts... ako jud gi ihap...hahaha ^_^ just got back from watching the movie. nindot. worth watching and worth my money (aw...sayop diay, worth ang gi bangka sa ako ...hehehe)

the girl who played mina, i think was not really a filipina. lahi ra siya mo english and mo tagalog. saw ryan eigenmann, siya to ang human smuggler. noel trinidad jr, i think mani siya kadtong medicine smuggler, and rez cortez ang iyang bodyguard. mao ra akong na ilhan nga mga filipino sa cast. ang uban filipinos like ang papa ni mina and si don carlos man tingali, don't know them. nindot pagka recreate ang setting, realistic kaayo, the intramuros the meralco train, believing it was shot in China. gi gasto-an jud. di ka maka tou nga dili diay to diri sa Philippines gi shoot.

Kadtong supposed to be Manila sa Shanghai China to ug kadtong sa cabanatuan mao to sa Australia. Kung observant lang ka, ma bantayan gyud nimo nga dili tropical ang surroundings. But hey the most important is the movie itself. he he he he.

from a production POV, it's better to shoot in those other countries than here itself.
