naa ba ni sa cebu?
nindot sad ni da!
really expensive sport at the moment kay relatively new pa man gud. in bora, you can get a good set all in for about $1500 with free lessons.
if anybody is into this here, we can always go together. kiters and windsurfers usually go together.
here's a pic i took in siargao last year, i helped this man mike launch his kite.

So, there are people who kiteboard in Siargao, now? If so please do tell, coz I would like to take pictures and maybe submit them internationally
wind condition there was pretty good last october during the men's international surf competition, not a lot of kiteboarding activities though, an occassional few maybe. try bora, i know there's a lot there.
3rd women's international surfing fest this end of may? any of you guys interested?
ur best bet for kiteboarding is boracay still during the amihan season (nov to apr). they usually flock there in the early morning when the wind is not yet that strong or when the tide is still low. if the tide is high, the beach will be filled with windsurfers so its a little crowded.
a pic of my first mate with the kiteboarders

FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK!!!, daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!! it's amazing, I guess it has been a really long time since I've been to Boracay, I still cant believe it. I'd be really happy if the lessons in Bora are cheaper compared internationally.Originally Posted by koykoy

I forgot to post, this beach is on the other side of the island, the side facing northeast.
There are pretty many centers there. Check out their rates at http://www.adventure-windsurfing-boracay.com/ This center is owned by Horst Lauer, a german, who is actually a very good man. Imagine, I asked him to deliver stuffs for me in Cebu worth $1,000 and I paid him 1 week after? And we never knew each other that time yet? Hehe
Beside adventure windsurfing is Greenyard funboard owned by Nenette Graf, a Filipina windsurfing champion. Their rates are almost the same. They are the distributor of the Cabrinha kites here in the Philippines. Cabrinha is a division of Neil Pryde, a well known sailmaker.
You can check the video of the Boracay Cup 2005 (which includes kiting) at http://www.boracaywindsurfing.com/ or you can search it in youtube. It's on the third video.
Their lessons are pretty reasonable. And after 3 days, you will be good at kiting, guaranteed!! hehe...
This pic was when we arrived:
