MLM or networking is actually a blessing in disguise to me. Though I never achieved much success in networking, it opened my mind to business and made me realize that I'm inclined to do business. I'm not connected to any MLM company right now (since I believe MLM is not for me) but I have several businesses that are doing well (among others that failed before). I'm more inclined towards the traditional form of business wherein I have to do everything from scratch.
After graduating from college (engineering), I worked for an engineering firm for more than a year but filed my resignation as I decided to do business. Right now, I'm a financial planner connected to one of the biggest financial firms in the Philippines (Philam Life) and is helping/running our family businesses/investments.
My take would be, not everybody is for employment and not everybody is for business. I strongly suggest that you should get to know your self even more and see what really appeals more to you, employment or business. If you're currently employed and want to do business, don't be scared to take the risk, it's all going to be worth it. Failing is much better than not trying at all because in failing comes learning. Many people want to do business but can't grow much because they're keeping themselves from growing by letting fear of failing get the most of them. Failures are stepping stones to success. Know your passion and go for it. If you love what you're doing, whether its employment or business, it's not going to be work, it's fun and of course, if you have the passion for something, success will be much easier to achieve.
I made a detailed assessment of what I really want. I want to do business but I pinpointed what kind of business that I want to start/run. You have to be detailed as you can so you can really see what you really want to do. I hope that this helps and could serve as an inspiration/eyeopener to some people.
If you don't like what you're doing, find and do something else. If you insist yourself in doing something you don't like, you're just delaying your success.
