I may not say nga dili ko proud being filipino pero let me see someone wear the barong tagalog instead of that colorful western shirt and the only filipino thing with it is naay print "Pinoy Pride" or Philippine map, or color and pattern after our flag.
Or also when some other nationalities esp westerners stage a dance contest featuring tinikling, bagol, kuratsa and make it a global hit or fad.
mao gyd!! +1 ko ani sir.

We all knew it, because this is reality. Even a half-Filipino sings American national anthem in a crowd, someone will say, wow he/she sings great, I'm proud to be a Filipino.

It's just like in desperation for distinction and respect we cling on to every opportunity nalang nga even bisan kanang such cases like, let's say "american pero and lolo/lola sa iyang mama is half-filipino" daginoton pag gyud.

What I see is we are clawing or scrounging every scrap of means to earn global respect or distinction
Ironic kaayo we stepped on our own dignity in while in search for it

Natabla raman cguro na boss kay kita manaway man sab ta sa mga binuhatang bati o di maayo sa mga kapwa pinoy di ba?.?

    example:

ang-ang man sab ug mu-ingon ta nga proud ta sa mga Pinoy nga nasakpang nangawat sa mga malls sa laing lugar o maski dinhi sa atong lugar.....mka ingon pa man gani ta usahay sa atong kaugalingon nga medyo mauwaw na hinoun ta sa pag ka Filipino labi na kun low image na kaayo ang dating sa Pinoy sa usa ka lugar (laing nasud)....so mahug ra ug tabla...there are times that we can say that we are proud of our heritage/culture/race/etc...there are also times or instances nga dili ta angay mu sulti nga proud ta sa pagka Pinoy..

..But in a way kanya kanya raman pud gud na ug perception, ,,,but still ,,since when did being proud of your own race was declared a crime?

...naa pud point si mokiloo, about anang "Barong Tagalog",,,dugay ra gyud kong nahibulong nganong halos perme nalang gyud mu prefer ang kasagaran sa Filipino ug foreign attire.

    example:

...Kita man sab gung Filipino (dili pud tanan) is very adaptable kaayo ta sa foreign trend and fashion.

Anywayz...I hope this thread dili ni mahimong battle ground sa mga different opinions nato....daygon nalang gud nato nang bata na si Angelo Baligad ,,,dili mana ma deny nga maayo na sya musayaw, dili man sab na ma deny nga FILIPINO_HAWAIIAN na sya di ba
