Default Re: Restaurants in the South (Guadalupe, Banawa, Labangon, Pardo, Talisay)

Hi Sasha Chic!! Glad you tried red moon. My favorite there is the Beef Sate... my husband loves their Spring Roll and Kiam Peng (the Brown Sticky Rice). A lot of chinese also love their Owachian (the one with oysters)

@reefcurl: Yes, I heard the same feedback from a lot of people who ate there Yesterday (Sunday)... The management knows already and they're doing everything they can to prevent this from happening again. Sasha Chic is right and they weren't expecting that much people because they only had a soft opening... I guess news travel fast and nahurot gyud daw ilang mga dishes. But anyway, they are doing something about this already... Give them a chance. Hahahaha. Seriously, I hope you guys would go back there again

Da Vinci's Pizza is also opening at Paseo Center... this week or next week! They serve the best Hawaiian Pizza!

eateries in the south is about comfort food and not fine dining. if you want to dine south of guadalupe river, then think bulging tummies and not formal settings.

anyway, i still have to try FOODIES. for those not faint in heart, try a lechon meal infront of Jai-Alai or at Poblacion, Talisay. Take-out native chicken inasal at tisa along with the original tisa siomai. cool down with Melton's halo-halo (pardo and labangon). a fried chicken foodcart in front of Goldilocks Punta Princesa has sunburst's recipe locked-up. try STK at the minglanilla fish port - it rivals STK opon but with much lower prices.

for those with less adventurous intents, ZAO and MoonCafe are the two obvious choices. Arano's would be my top pick, while the baby back ribs infront of CnT guadalupe is a must-eat.

Chinese ? red moon at arcenas estates has slooowww service but blame that on it's newness. try ordering take-outs at Times Kitchennete at Tabunok.

Grilled items - the isol and chicken skin at abellanosa's is 40% cheaper (and as tastefull) than larsians. just tell them not to put too much sauce as it can overwhelm the taste of the meat. try the bbq at litang's in pardo.

looking to sit down with redhorse or sanmigs ? try talisay beach late in the afternoon on a holiday. get some kinilaw and a lechon head for pulutan. drink with at least 3 others. for the amorous, girls of the night will approach you come 5PM so be good istorya.net.boys and resist the urge as well as prevent STDs.

carinderias - try the one at labangon besides cheaverz. order their linat-an and balbacua and pair it with mais rice and not humay. the pasil "pawika-nan" can give you guilty feelings afterwards and it's not for the faint of heart. but if you do want to experience it, then sit down and eat and don't take-out. the on-site dining experience alone is 50% of the trip.

    cheers.

i am sooo glad someone made a review of FOODIES. sige na lang ako drive by and we always say...kain tayo minsan dyan... but we never get to do so. salamat sa recommendations.

LOLA eats in M. VELEZ cor whatever street (near the old mingkay's) is good also for those occassions na wala kayo helper and u need to eat affordable food na nakakabusog. masarap ila bbq and ila tortang talong. how much? ngeks... i think the bbq is 10 or 15p per stick. hehehehe. pls forgive me.. sa sobrang laki ng pamilya ko at mas malaki naming appetite di ko na namamalayan ang price... basta if there is five of you...expect to spend about 300-400p including drinks na yan.
