IMHO, better choose BPI they have very good service, quite a number of atm machines and bank offices, very good in terms of online bills and payments. and a "+1" to the cute bank tellers hihihi..

In my experience, UBP's EON is the best para savings. Why? There's no maintaining balance unlike usual savings accounts plus you can easily use it online kay naa man kay online account. However, there's a fee to be paid annually.

BDO and BPI are very good banks too para nako but expect to wait in line most of the time, labi na kung sa malls ka then after office hours.

ako ma suggest is BPI. dali ra kaau sila maka offer nmo kung naa ka problem sa imo account anywhere na branch nila. daghan pud jud ni sila depositors. sa BDO ang di lng nko ganahan is naa jud sila interbranch fee pero if same ra ang lugar like sa cebu ra na acct pero sa lain ka na branch mag deposit wla ra pero f nationwide na transaction naa jud not like BPI. then if magpa encash ka sa imo check na para BDO pud na check naa ghapon sila charge. ila advice is ideposit nlang sa imo acct para wlay charge.

for passbook, i can recommend PNB and Metrobank
atm account = metrobank and UBP eon

mas better if naa ra sa duol, but i would recommend going for reputed banks, like the big ones. and dont expect too much sa interest rate kay most of them are the same.

if you intend to manage fund using the internet, choose a bank with online account portal. major banks has this feature as well.

if you are saving to earn interests, better if sa mga coop bossing. makatabang pa nimo in times of need.
if you are saving just for safekeeping any of those banks will do.

OT: bitaw TS, depende sa imo purpose of opening an account. If pra safekeeping lang and everyday use, go for banks.
If you aim for higher interest rates? let's talk. hehe... joke (half truth, half hadlok sa mods if pwd)

OnT: it's not good to pool all your funds in one bank if you intend to open bank accounts lang jud.
    I prefer the ff:
    BDO
    - longer banking hours (9-6pm outside malls; "10"-7pm malls)
    - higher atm withdrawal limit per transaction per day
(25K max per transaction; upto 50K withdrawal limit per day; upto 6 withdrawal transactions)
    - numerous atm machines

    BPI
    - no interbranch deposit charge
    - you can fund transfer from BPI Savings to BPI Family or BPI Direct and vice versa without any charges
    - numerous atm machines
    - ATM withdrawal limit is upto 20K per day only; max of 6 transactions

    Things you have to consider:
    - accessibility(near your home, workplace and whereabouts)
    - services offered/rendered (from products to staffs)
    - banking hours
    - convenience (over-the-counter, online, mobile, telephone)
    - etc

    RCBC Savings
    - maintaining balance for savings and checking account is only P2.5K
    - good for regional and provincial remittances as compared to other kwarta padala
banking hours: 9 to 3pm only

Yes, Bro cebu.opp is correct. It really depends on the reason why you are opening a bank account.

If for safekeeping or for emergency funds, accessibility is an important factor aside from customer service. For me, any of MetroBank, BPI and BDO will do. They have a lot of ATMs all over the city.

If a checking account, then it would be better if it has extended its office hours like weekends but it's just a plus. As what Bro makie said, if you're into online, EON is a better option. You may as well use the online banking facility of your chosen for a more convenience banking.

If you have enough emergency funds which is ideally equal to at least 6 months of your monthly expenses, then considering high-yield investments or other investment vehicles would be better but it will be based on your investment horizon of course, IMHO.
