Well, I haven't played much of the early Megaman games: I have finished 1 through 5 and the 8th installment and still haven't played 6, 7 and 9th one and I am with X with this one and say that Megaman 2 (NES) was pretty tough. I hated Heatman's stage! Grrhg!!
For the X series, I've finished 1 to 5. I regard X-4 as my favorite in this series, tho. I like using Zero in this installment coz he felt pretty balanced compared to the other "X" Titles.
But my most absolute favorite version of all Megaman games--and I'm talking about my overall favorite gyud would have to be MEGAMAN LEGENDS SERIES INCLUDING MISADVENTURES OF TRON BONNE for the PS1. I dunno why but whenever I think about my PS1 and see my copy of all 3 games I just have this determined side of me to just play the game and finish with a big grin on my face.
I love it, IMO the best Megaman game I've ever played. It's too bad that the 3rd one's in limbo coz Keiji Inafune (the man behind most of the Megaman Games you love playing) left CAPCOM in 2010. The Legends series is Inafune's pride and joy than most of the Megaman games he'd either produced, developed or directed--in short, it's his masterpiece. I dunno if they'll ever release a 3rd one (it's been 11 years since the last MML game) but I do have high hopes for it. I just hope it wouldn't be a dissappointment tho (Inafune's relationship with CAPCOM is very 'bleak' soo. . .)
I wonder if the Wii Store's got a downloadable versions of the Megeaman Zero series?? I've been wanting to play that series for a while now but I don't have a GBA (and shameless plug: I don't like HandheldsDon't ask, I just don't. . . )

Don't ask, I just don't. . . )
