Deviant as in it does notkow tow to Manila's wants? Sure we have "interesting" politicos, but a "negative mindset?"

All of you are a BUNCH OF IDIOTS. READ CAREFULLY IT SAID: Cebu is a deviant from "national politics and negative mindsets" Dili Cebu has a negative mindset but rather a deviant from it, since negativism has become the mindset of this country...

We should be proud of this deviant thing... That means we don't bow down to them... We have a mind of our own, an economy of our own, a language of our own, and hopefully a country of our own... ummmmmmmmmm..

Ana siguro ilang pasabot: "...Of course, again, it’s in Cebu -- the deviant in national politics, and collective negative mindset..."

A misplaced comma is good enough to ruin the essence of a sentence.

Oh well, bawi-on lang nako to akong first reply.

Deviant as in it does notkow tow to Manila's wants? Sure we have "interesting" politicos, but a "negative mindset?"Â*

All of you are a BUNCH OF IDIOTS. READ CAREFULLY IT SAID: Cebu is a deviant from "national politics and negative mindsets" Dili Cebu has a negative mindset but rather a deviant from it, since negativism has become the mindset of this country...

When I posted this link, I was thinking peripherally about "Anti-Manila," Anti-whatever sentiments; the primary aim of my post was to invite comments about the concept of Cebu's "deviancy" in national politics, critiques about the quality and style of the article, and possibly, and unfortunately, the vague notion of "collective negative mindset" that, I agree, could have referred to Cebu or the country at large. However, to refer to people as a bunch of "idiots," in my humblest opinion, is beyond the pale and goes against the spirit of intelligent discussion that this group encourages. I would like to suggest that before we resort to name calling, the matter of grammar and form be fleshed out first, and ascertain what the columnist wanted to convey, versus what was actually printed, and finally, what the readers perceived.Â* As a related post does suggest, a "misplaced" comma is "good enough to ruin the essence of a sentence." I rest my case.

Deviance is meant as an independent stand, not an anti-imperialist Manila sentiment.

Cebu is critical in the nation's progress. Let's keep on making the Cebu. Manakod ni sa Manila and other key cities.
