Even if this is repealed mangita gihapon na sila ug paagi arun maka kuwarta.. Our problem is not our laws, our problem is our culture of dishonesty. If you compare us with other first world countries we are far behind in terms of trustworthiness. If you left your wallet in a public place in Japan, theres 99% chance it will be returned to you. If that happened here you can kiss your money goodbye. Not saying there are no honest people here but im saying that daghan na jud dishonest karon dre because our leadership is setting a bad example.

Without cultural shift you can pass as many anticorruption laws you want but we'll still be screwed over. Just look at the number of people in this forum willing to let corrupt people off the hook via technicalities and you can see right there the kind of attitude our people have. We deserve the country we got because of our complicity in tolerating if not encouraging palusot mentality...

I was already an investor when that account was opened...so that account belongs to an investor hehehe.

ayuhon lang gyud tingali ug balay-balay ang balaod nga wala nay kalutsan ang gusto molusot.
I think your status as a private citizens and investor will be superseded once you take the oath--so if a person were to take office, naa jud part nga mu ingon ma relinquish iyang right to keep in confidence sa mga bank accounts he ever had in his name, even before legally changing his name (if applicable). It's not the most fail-proof way to detract graft and crookery, but it is better than what we have right now.

You can't change the mindset and culture at will, you have to create certain conditions to affect that. Though I'm not saying that this possible new clause/amendment will do that, it is a step in the right direction. You have to take the veil of secrecy surrounding our public servants so that they can feel the eyes of the public on them.

The ABOLITION of the FCDU Act will be the BEST legacy of the whole impeachment mess.

If Noy is really SERIOUS about fighting corruption, then be should boldly DESTROY the means to hide the fruits of corruption.

Also, require waiver from all elected officials regarding OFFSHORE accounts.
