Hi CebuTanoshimu,

You don't have to be a programmer to attend the SEO Workshop though it is an additional advantage on your part if you know HTML, WordPress, etc in order for you to have combo skills and to get more clients.

To give you an idea of what are the requirements if you wish to become SEO Specialist someday (part-time, home-based, office-based) check the following info (I took it from another site to give you an idea the skill sets needed for this particular job):

Qualifications:
• Experienced SEO specialist (at least 1 year work experience)
• Must be a graduate of Business Administration or IT-related courses
• Must have an experience in niche development, landing page optimization and creating SEO plan
• Basic skills in HTML, CSS, Wordpress, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Alexa, Google Analytics, Google keyword tools, Google webmaster, Photoshop, FTP setup, basic wp plugin installation and configuration
• Updated on the latest trends in SEO tricks and tactics
• Must be able to write simple blog contents, comment on blogs and forums with correct grammar and thought

If you ask me, start creating your own blog site from blogger.com or from another platforms so you can apply what you learned during this workshop.

After I posted this particular workshop, a member in one of the Facebook groups I subscribed to asked me if I know of somebody whom I can recommend to join them as "SEO Specialist".

Our objective why we are organizing this learning event is to help supply the demand.
