2.5" drives are those that are used in laptops. Some call these mobile hard drives. The 3.5" are those hard drives for pc. The one mostly found in desktop computers.

As for the USB - Universal Serial Bus, this is a standard interface so any usb terminal or port is identical. It will only vary in the version (which includes the transfer speed, electrical features, etc.).

For external drives you have two options. first, if you go for portability and lightweight, consider 2.5" drives. Second, if you go for capacity (200GB Max.), you get the 3.5" drives.

usually the enclosures here are the drawer type. Been looking for the one you posted vino kid. Its seems its not available locally.
