Well, many thanks for all your replies, I somehow got a fair idea of what I should do. The reason why I found this site (istorya) is because of my test with phpbb, I found it to be fairly easy to setup. I tried to lurk on some phpbb sites to see what they got and copied features that I liked to my own experimental setup. Then I checked for phpbb sites in the Phils, and I found istorya.net. Lurking more, I found out there are website developers/owners here. It just came to my curiosity how is this kind of business is thriving. Please don't get me wrong, I wonder if you are doing this fulltime or parttime or just a hobby. You guys are great!

Don't know anything about Dreamweaver stuffs or Flash or CSS. Well, I'm learning on my spare time. Any inputs are appreciated. Thanks.

i would like to suggest that you learn things first.. Html.. dreamweaver flash Css or whatever tool you are comfortable with.. then upload it to a free webhosting company.. (dont waste your money yet on paid hosting).

w3schools.com is very useful. try using frontpage, you can just type the text & frontpage will generate a script for it.

If you want to host your website you need to set-up ur own server and register a domain name. If you plan to host to
other server try to visit http://www.netfirms.com.. You can create your own FREE website, for example http://boy_ingig.netfirms.com.

If you don't know how to do your webpage just use netfirms website builder.

nice to know youre into phpbb too.. once been there.. but have moved into a cms core... almost banged my head learning phpbb while i can have it all in a cms.

Depende sa imo needs, if gusto ka mag-create ng website just to experiment for awhile, i think it would be better to have it hosted for free and deal with banners/pop-up windows and ads, because web hosting space will cost you a month kahit 100K bytes lang ang gamit mo. Most web hosting packages are sold per how big the space is like 500K, 1G, 2G, 3G, and the prices that you will pay a month will depends on those web space package that you choose, so you need to pre-determine your web space need before you avail web hosting pakages so that you can maximize the use of your space according to what you pay. But there are several websites or companies out there that offer free web space if you are planning on just having personal website and not company websites or e-commerce stores. If you avail free webspace, you usually cannot use your own domain name, the website who owns the web space (that you use for free) usually provide you the link that points to your web page.

if you really want a domain, there's a lot of affordable ones out there. i pay 95 per month for my domain i think the only thing that's expensive is the domain registration...but if you're still experimenting, i agree with them, try the free webhosting services, pero mao sad lagi, lahi ra kaau ang free sa paid...

boy ingig : use macromedia dreamweaver mx ... read the tutorials...sooner or later you'll learn..=)
