Pwede ra gyud kaayo ka mo-tan-aw sa internet for reviews. Makita ra na usually sa reviews ngano bati sila. Pero kung buot huna-hunaon man gud, wala man gyud "bati" gyud nga camera. Wala man siguro company nga mo-finance ug development ug usa ka product nga bati. Depende lang guro sa "target user" ana nga camera.

Naay uban camera nga "basic" gyud kaayo ug features like for example, walay movie mode. For sure uban users mo ingon nga bati na xa kay tungod walay movie mode. Pero sa pag-buhat adto nga product ang target user adto is that gusto lang gyud makakuha ug picture and dili sila tig-video and gusto sila makabarato.

@ayahay: It's very difficult to answer your question so let me just share my experience. I wasn't interested in photography but my wife wanted us to get a digital camera so we could take photos of our daughter during school events. We used Google for the best point and shoot and found the Canon Powershot A630. We also used it on Auto mode 100% of the time. Then one day, an officemate of mine who moonlights as a wedding/events photographer taught me how to use the other modes, namely shutter and aperture. I used it on AV most of the time and just post-process to correct the photos. Most of my subjects are toys . Then I guess it was around late 2008 that I found the A630 limiting. I wanted more from it so I decided to research for DSLRs. After 2-3 months, it was between a Nikon D90 and a Canon 450D. I would have really gone for the Nikon but was turned off by Columbia's answer that even if the camera was still under warranty, I would pay for the S&H to Manila and back (pero good news kay mag-abli na daw Nikon diri).

My answer is a bit long but the point of it is that, a camera becomes 'ugly' when it can no longer serve your needs. The needs of a mother who just wants to shoot baby photos are different from photojournalists in Afghanistan or Iraq.

That is why I asked what you're purpose for asking the question para makatabang mi tubag. Like if you plan on using it for night events, then you better get a camera with a fast lens (naa na mga PnS that have fast apertures at its widest range) and good high ISO performance. If you're a day shooter, any cam would do but get one with good flare, chromatic aberration, and contrast control.

Photogs like arisarnado have toycams with masking tape which I consider 'ugly' (sorry aris) but the photos it takes have a certain charm to them. Lahi from overly sharp photos I see almost everday.

As for the reactions of the people, don't worry too much about them. They're good kids. It's just that we didn't get enough context from your question to really understand your view.

To answer ur question:
Para sa ako ang bati nga camera wala sa specs. ang bati para sa ako kanang di nako madala na camera ky di ko comfortable dalhon. Daghan nako naagian camera from PnS, DSLR, M4/3,EVIL den recently murag nakita nako na di jd ko pwede DSLR so naka decide ko mubalik sa gagmay na cam. Even though mas nindot ang DSLR specs wise, pero di jud ko ma inspire ky di man ko comfortable mag dala2. so, useless ra! bahala og unsa ka bati imo cam basta inspired ko mu take pictures. I'm sure mas better imo mga results!
