Overclockers can attest to this, don't really have enough idea to explain it but I've experienced it myself on my previous AMD rig. I was able to push more mhz going from a dual channel kit to just using a single stick.

d man maka hinay na bro ako gani dri tag isa2x man ka tag 2 gig corsair silbi ako gpuno ako ram slot tag 2X4gig mas ok nuon, if kng naa mo ask ngano ako gpuno bcoz dko ganahn d magamit ang ubng slot..

If pang choy2x lang diay imo purpose a RAM like kingston valueram or any valueram pair it with a ramsink then you're good to go with a 2X2GB!

about sa performance murag naay gamay apan, mudako gamay imong power consumption obviously kay daghan na man imong RAM sticks nya naay deperansya gamay sa scores sa latencies compared with 4GBX2 Dual channel

just make sure nga identical lang gyud tanan RAMS imong ita-ud or else kini ang pinakadako ug performance loss kung lain-lain imong ita-ud, or maski pariha ug part number pero lain ug memory I.C. gipang gamit mulahi sad, katesting na gyud ko ani mismo sa KINGSTON 800 MHZ value RAM, 4 ka 2GB, ako rang huna2x nikusog pero akong benchmark scores wa gyud mamakak hehehe, pag ilis nakog identical na gyud tanan aw pati na akong scores ug akong huna2x

@TS: To add lang sa akong comment.

Be sure you have an identical ram as well as listed in QVL. You should follow it otherwise you will messed up and lots of problems may arise. Been on that issues sa RAM but on first I didn't believed coz when I tested sa MEMTEST everything is 100% and most of all its bnew but fortunately I figured it out and it was the RAM that causes the problem and now the issue is 100% solved and gone.

Make sure your board has Vdimm adjustments. Some boards dont like all slots populated and you have to manually adjust voltage to make the ram operate flawlessly.
