there's nothing wrong with being a cc agent. you should try it if you can (they pay better than regular day jobs). try to build self-confidence while you are working in that field. but don't stay too long, try to learn what you can. IMO, i don't see a person who'll be a call center agent for 30 years. Focus on what you really want. Who say's working in a call center is a no brainer? that is crap. wa ko sa call center nagwork but i understand that it is not an easy job. Do you think being a real estate agent or anything related to marketing is easy? heck, even janitorial jobs ain't easy. Good luck ts.

    OT:

It really is a surprise for me when I see people singling out call center agents. I mean, when was the last time a legal job, which happens to be as decent and as honest as every job there is, became this controversial? What is with being a call center agent that makes it a big deal? Why do people seem disturbed by it? Please enlighten me.

Note: When I say people, I mean just anybody and not only one or two person in particular.

OT: bai, dali Raman sabton.tungod na sa nakita nila nga lifestyle sa call center agents bai. Tungod cguro sa mga kusog maggimmik. Batan-on man sad gud usually ang nag work sa call center maong di malikayan ang maghappy2. Mostly sad sa call center Kay Dili family oriented (correct me if I am wrong ha).

nganu ako jud tawon huwaton mag comment?

ako ra ikatambag. starch from scratch gyud. ayaw pangita og dako sweldo ky fresh grad man mo. u have to start from the bottom and move your way up.

    cge ako sugdan istorya ha...

before ko nag graduate, our university in bacolod held a job failr around 1st week of march man cguro so nag try pod ko apply2x... and just before i graduated 2 companies in cebu (call center) offered me a job... ako mentality that time dili nako mag pili kung kinsa as long kung kinsa jud mauna hatag og job offer then mao na daun... so i accepted the job offer of the 1st company ky sila man nauna, although ako jud unta ganahan ang 2nd company. but i don't have a choice that time. ganahan ko maka work daun. d ko nahan mag tambay tas magpabuhi sa ginikanan. so i signed a contract from them before i even graduated.

the offer was 10,000 monthly with 1,100 rice allowance (it will be 12,500 inig ka regular mo after 6 months), naay night diff and other perks depende kung unsa ka na account na assign. at first d nahan ako mama pa cebu ky nahan daw cya stay lang ko sa bacolod ad2 pangita og trabaho. ako reason na wala naman daghang opportunity na ihatag ang bacolod and salary is way too low pod (since wala pa man call centers during that time).

I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT A CALL CENTER IS DURING THAT TIME since d pa jud na sikat ang call center during that time

i graduated computer engineering march 24, 2006 and my start date was April 24, exactly a month after i graduated. so i packed up. went to cebu. the company gave me a 5 day free accomodation sa Golden Peak Hotel before i was able to find a place to stay.
ako sweldo every 15 days ky 5,500 ra... then ako pa abang sa kwarto 2,500... good thing the house naa ra sa apas, malakaw ra padung IT park

during this time, the only buildings in IT Park were Globe, The Village and e-Office 1. Bag-o ra human ang PIPC Building (now i1) and ang skyrise ky bag-o pa lang sugod construct.

ako trabaho is tig-take og calls... tig baligya VOIP phone sa mga manawag... at first na frustrate ko ky di ko nahan sa ako trabaho ky murag d man related sa course na computer engineering tas tig baligya ko. naay commission of course... and OT in dollars... on my 3rd month nakatilaw jud ko og commission until such time na ang ako basic salary every 15 days mao nana ang ako gibayad na tax. so ang tax ko is around 6k per 15 days because the commission is also taxable.

naa pod mga internal opening sa IT so i tried applying pero daghan man kaau politics. palakasay man diay ang sa IT. dapat naay ka backer na supervisor para madawat ka did2. so na frustrate ko ky gusto jud ko mag IT since i want to work on a job that is related to my course. but ako ra dyapon gi agwanta. moved on. take dyapon og calls. commission + OT.

sad to say that account na dagko manghatag commission was dissolved and i had the chance to have a lateral transfer to a DSL / phone technical support account, and that was really related to my course although mao ra dyapon. take in calls. i learned a lot from that account. pero balik na pod sa basic ang sweldo 6,250 per 15 days. gamay na au ang sweldo pra nako. ako gi agwanta ang but 4 months after pag abot sa yearly appraisal, 250 pesos ra ako increase sa monthly salary. that was one of the major reasons na nagresign ko.

nag suway2x pod ko apply laing companies before i resigned. my goal is to secure a job before i will resign. had some interviews as well but diri ko jud na realize na layu ra diay ako sweldo sa mga ordinaryong trabahante. so i decided to apply on another call center.

i applied on a 2nd company before i resigned sa 1st company. mao ni unta ang company na ganahan jud ko mag work but na uwahi ra jud sila hatag og job offer katong before ko ni graduate.

nadawat. the next day, i passed my resignation paper sa ako supervisor. then ako gihurot ang terminal leave. bakasyon ko 2 weeks sa amoa before i started with the new company June 12, 2007. pay is good. 13,500 basic + 3,000 non taxable allowance (15,000 basic upon regularization 6 months + 3,000 non taxable allowance) and the account is very much complex. a tech support for very well known computer company.

diri jud ko nagdugay na company. ganahan jud ko sa account. i learned a lot from this account. naa pa jud laboratories and training room. you have to open jud desktops and laptops. naa jud hands on. everytime naay new systems naay training. hapit ko diri mag 4 years and i had 4 promotions in 3 years. of course nagkadako pod ang sweldo until it reached mga 37k monthly gross (minus pa tax, sss, pag ibig)...

but again for a total of nearly 5 years working in a call center, most of the time night shift pa jud, my body has already taken it's toll og grabe na jud kadaghang trabaho mag patong2x. d naman ok ang management at that time so i decided to quit Feb this year since this is really unhealthy na.

with part of my savings, nanimpad ko laing nasud last january at the time nag terminal leave nko sa company. i was just a tourist then. apply2x daun mga IT related jobs until i got one exactly 2 weeks after i arrived.
so mao na after nearly 5 years of waiting, i got what i want. an IT related job jud. not a call center. morning shift. sat sun days off.

    +1 ko ani.
i am not a basis for ALL... take note sa ako gi mention on the above post
i am searching for a job related to IT dyapon even if i was in a CC, even internal openings, also im taking into consideration what account i will be profiled. ky kung ibutang na pod ko tig baligya na pod. aw d na jud nko dawaton ana. as much as possible i still to a job related to my field which i am really good at.

i have plans later on. nahan ko mag business na ky d pod ko nahan na magtrabaho until magtiguwang. as of now tigom dyapon ky wala pa man pamilya.

also there are a lot of factors why people apply sa call centers. at that time lang jud wa lang ko idea unsa ang call center when i was still a fresh grad.

if let's say for example pamilyado ko i think maglahi pod ako mga decisions especially going abroad.
