I will be shooting for the stars and will most probably end up having a Sennheiser HD800 in the coming months... or years... lol...

Seriously, my current choices for headphones are the Sennheiser HD380 Pro, HD650, or a Grado or Shure. I will also be acquiring a Westone 3 in-ear headphone for my mobile audio needs. Back to the topic, I've read that the Asus Xonar utilizes a lot more cpu resources compared to the Auzentech X-fi... dili ba ni siya critical?

I am really not an Audiophile but I want a nice sounding setup. I am also a purist... stereo all the way.

Xonar Essence STX user here Boss Beor. Paired mine with a Sennheiser HD590. I'm very satisifed with the sound but I'm not an audiophile and as some would say "sound satisfaction is relative to the listener".

With regards to the CPU usage, I don't think that would have much of a concern considering your nice setup. Mine never goes beyond 30% with usual usage like gaming, concerts and other rich content media applications that requires audio and video prowess of your system. My basic system hardwares are the following,

Intel i7 920
Asus Sabertooth X58
OCZ 6G DDR3 1600 Ram
Radeon HD5850 GPU
Asus Xonar Essence STX
