Your looking at two different perspectives sir..

You cant use your 35mm on far zoom shots and you cant use 55-200 on landscapes or details

so it depends on your preference

either go to teleboso este telephoto 55-200 (kobe dunk)

or go straight sharp portrait 35 mm (FHM)

BUT PRIMES ARE FAR SHARPER THAN ANY TELE Lens

...and you might as well think, "I already have the 35mm range covered with my 18-55 kit lens, plus it has VR and is capable of shooting in low-light"

Kit lenses have the cheapest optics, so expect a huge leap in Image Quality on the 35mm, a 35mm@ f/4 on your kitlens will not be as sharp as the 35mm DX with the same aperture value

As for the VR, the fact that your kit lens can *mimic* a 1.8 shot without using a tripod, it CAN'T freeze motion, VR isn't made for moving subjects like kids.
