    Default Education or Experience?

Im not sure about this. is OJT or intern considered as job experience? If you can show portfolio or projects handled it can also help get a job. If you were really serious during your school days, by the time you have graduated, you can show them your portfolio instantly without cramming to create one.

IMO... you need to couple education & expereience to be more productive & successful. After all, a great general need to changes his battle plan in the midst through his experience and by the book.

Vague as per se. How smart you are or genius you are no managers will oblige you to handle a project/s without enough experience. They so called portfolio, you need to develop through time. Not just a span of your OJT..... IMHO.

for me it is always the best to have a proper education before anything else. theory is far more important in learning...

you cant start anything without knowledge ang you cant perfect something without experience. education first, experience will come faster to the educated one.

    Default Education or Experience?

for me experience is more important than education. seriously if companies gives equal opportunities to undergrad and grad then that would render that pc of paper called diploma almost completely useless. but sad to say most companies in our country requires that (crappy) pc of paper as a requirement to get hired. cmon lets be realistic. u dnt need a degree to be a cashier. u dnt need a diploma to be a teller. heck! they might require a diploma bt think of it. they dnt care what course u took up as long as u have that pc of paper.

jst because u studied something for years may it be 4 or 5 or 6 or 8 or whatever does not mean that u are better in that particular something over someone who never studied it in school.

    Default Education or Experience?

im being monotonous here, but, both goes hand in hand. if you were to hire somebody, would u just hire him because his resume says so? majority of reputable companies subjects an applicant to series of interviews, exams, then another interview, then a test of knowledge, and so on and on and on.

what employers look for is somebody who can do the job, his resume may show he came from the best school, got a course pointing at the opening, but what does he have to comply about the requirements? our resume speaks alot about us.

if u consider education is the most important, then why the heck post your experience? vice-versa!!!

the reason why we studied is to prepare, build a foundation, and start a career. Those who has never studied bettered to educate themselves and start their own business, who will hire then anyway?

no one will ever put their business on the wrong hands!!! ask me, I WON'T!!!

being fair, as employers would look at it, experience matters. The First thing an applicant can flaunt before his education is his experiences... That will bring him closer to the queue of employment.

As we have observed, companies keep track of good performers. Chances are, they will welcome fresh applicants from the "same school" as those currently employed and doing well. at this point, education dribbles the ball.

In conclusion, there is no way, that education eats mr. experience's dust and conversely.

Let's do good with our education, beat all odds to gain experience, and race all the way to the top of the ladder, sit, stay.. and arf arf arf.. joke

    peace, out!

    Default Education or Experience?

u got me wrong dude. i said experience is more important than education. of course its better if they do go hand in hand. but fact is it doesnt go hand in hand in most cases.

lets just say a teller job or a cashier job. they require a 4 yr graduate of any course. y? do u really need to graduate in any particular course to count money? we already learn that in hs. even elementary kids can count money. i know i used to play cashier for my aunt when during summer when i was in 4th grade. u think a graduate of a 4 yr course will be better at counting money than someone who's done the sam/similar jobs for years?

think about it. most jobs can be done by someone without that pc of diploma. except for some that really requires a highly specialized training.

honestly! you cashiered for your AUNT!!!(got the word?) simply you are "AKIN" to the owner.

then, what are post graduate education for? don't you think that is to strengthen your credentials?

if experience was the most important thing, then, post grad education is absurd!

why do they take MBA? why take Masters? why take Doctorate?

COZ THOSE FULL OF EXPERIENCE STILL NEEDS MORE EDUCATION... NOBODY KNOWS EVERYTHING... and there is no better place to learn fast, easy, and risk free than the school!!!

executives make wise decisions, and you can't formulate your thesis and implement in your own business anytime you feel like it!!!

..not to mention, good businessmen holds an overflowing supply of experience through ages of business management.

...why do they resort to MBA? why so? please explain!!!
