actually dili lang bass ang naay distortion.. they even purposely laid-in a single distortion track sa lay-in.... ang effect ana kay naa gyuy distorted effect ang entire song.. a producer/sound engineer friend of mine pointed that out while we were scrutinizing the "hot fuss" album...

my current favorite sa ila album kay katong "smile" man cguro to.. basta iya lyrics kay "smile like you mean it"..

cool album.. but it still doesnt compare to bloc party's "silent alarm" album..

i think they're still indie but more of a sellout version. but the music's still good.
bands on the same vein(well, not really) that i can recommend: interpol, bloc party, the yeah yeah yeahs, the shins, ratatat, mogwai(instrumental), the postal service, etc.

i agree with you on that one cujo. i think i know ur friend/sound engineer... we did that on several of our songs 2 - 3 years ago ... double take lang to dili dual line-in. first is the regular bass then ni-record ko usab same song but distorted ang bass... ok sad ang resulta but wala gyud ma human ang record coz of some issues...

CUJO.. Bloc Party sounds like Crap sa Live setting. Ang backing vocals sa bahista lahi ra gyud compared sa CD. Daghag nindot sa album sa The Killers.. maayo sab gyud pagka suwat ug pagka arrange.

I think its indie rock, if you like the killers try also stone roses, james, white stripes, the smiths, pulp, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN, THE CHURCH, THE CULT , the smitherens and so many more

THE CURE also has a big influence on their music.

err... indie rock (bands) refer to bands that are on small independent record labels or that aren't on labels at all. it isn't a music genre.

i agree... but what is the genre of this band? nangutana bitaw to ang naghimo sa thread..... natawag siguro ni depechebox na indie rock ni coz he himself wala sya kahibaw sa genre.... pareho ra man na sa mo-ingon ka new wave, alternative.... diba?
