In theory DVI should give you the best possible image quality and the very least singal loss, In practice some monitors have a very good VGA input that theres no difference to the naked eye. But why settle for VGA when things are moving in favor for HDMI/Mini-DP.
Its not like the DVI cable will cost a fortune, but dont expect noticable image quality gains though but its better to have DVI over VGA.

ah ok, I'll try using DVI and see if the monitor has differences on performance with diff. cables.
