downloading songs and sending emails has little to do with the specs of your pc. unless of course your still using the older pcs.. or grabe ka mo multi task that your opening resource hog applications while sending emails kay mohinay gyud ang imong unit but not necessarily mohinay mung download speed .. cause sending emails and downloading is all about your internet speed..

anyways friendly advice lang bai, avoid lang thingking tools kay as far as i can remember bati sad na cla ug serice diha. pareha rna sa usa nila ka store kanang pc quickbuys na way sama ka walay batasan (maypa batasan sa akong iromakaun pag tawo) nga attendant den mga baho pa gyud kaaug mga nawong aw mug-ot diay.. sorry..
regarding sa package na pc worth 24k, at all cost avoid lang na cya kay naa pay nindot na deal ana.. adto nlang pcx ok kaau ila mga attendant ngadto kay costumer oriented..

i print ni na specs den give it to the attendant and have it purchase. ikaw nlang pili sa monitor naa man lg na flat 17 inches mga 5k kapin man cguro na.. but u are w/ some1 who knows abit about pcs den i suggest adto palit ug ram sa ngenuis kay ang ila 512 na ddr2 mgadto tag 2.5k or more rman cguro to dili lang kingston but ncp anyway di man sad ka mag overclock.. pcqucibuys na ram are abit cheaper than pcx.. pwede sad adto ka palit depende ra nimo.. cheers!

Instead of 256MB memory, 512MB na lang para mas comfortable when you'll be multi-tasking (i.e. running multiple apps like downloader, email client, browser, IM client at once).

Is a known brand name like sony, samsung means quality?

With regards to your concern an paspas mu download or what you mean is better and stable internet connection, this matter will depend sa imo ISP (Internet Service Provider), and with regards to ISP napud mag varry napud sa imo location kung asa ka nakapuyo kay naay mga DSL Line sa PLDT and Globe medyo hinay and sometimes dili stable na mga area, and one thing pa jud naay panagsa ang router na ginaprovide sa PLDT and Globe ang naay problem laluna if dili well ventilated imo place or wala ka aircon kay panagsa dali mugenerate ug heat ang ila ginaprovide na mga router unless mupalit ka imo imo ADSL modem or ADSL router such as Netgear, Linksys, D-Link na mga brand. With regards to SMARTBro naman if kani imo connection sa internet mag varry napud ni sya sa imo location if layo kaayo ka sa Cell Site or daghan interference sa inyo environment na muinterupt sa signal sa SMARTBro, if naa ka router mas ok ang performance sa SMARTBro depende pud sa brand sa router. And with regards sa performance sa mapalit nimo na PC, bantayi ang motherboard and memory (RAM) mao ni sila main concern for a stable system unit sa PC. You should choose a good motherboard (dili pud nang mahal kaayo) and a good and tested performance na brand sa memory. Sometimes you can get a good motherboard pero if dili pud good imo memory dili gihapon stable imo mahimong PC. Good brands of memory i recommend are PQI, Twinmos, Kingston, Corsair, somteimes NCP depende sa board na gamiton. Have a nice pc components hunting....

you can also take yob's advice na dili lang sa 1 gig na mem mung paliton coz kung daghan na supplies sa pc 800 ddr2 kay mukanaug nana ang mga prices sa ram.. but i think dugay2 pa..

try to consider brad na ang onboard video ani nga unit is nvida 6100 nha then i think its enough for him. I myself assembled a unit for a friend na on board lang mas nice pag graphics compared sa AGP niya na MX series PRAMIS

ok rana onboard video, besides your not a gamer, applications and videos will run good on that. as for ram 512mb PQI ddr2 is ok. 256mb is too low i think.
