J'ai à proposer sur......Vous me manquerez
well, there are two ways:
There's "week-end" but am sure mas masabtan sa tanan ang "fin de semaine". which is a literal translation of weekend as in the "END" of the week. For the french, the weekend is saturday and sunday because their calendars start on a monday man gyud, not like our calendars.
I used to live in Montreal for a couple years when I was a kid , so I just thought I should offer something I've learned . Hehe
Comment ca va (Kome sa vah) is more popular . Well at least for francais canadien (french canadian) .
Comment ca va = How is it going
Then , you'll get a response either ca va (sa vah) which means "It goes" or "it's going" (just assume they're doing good) and they might add bien means "well", or "good" (add them up: ca va + vien = it goes well! YAY!) or maybe ca va pas (sa va pah) means "it goes not well" for not good .. Some people might reply , ca va merci means "it goes (or with bien) thank you"
Comment va tu = How you go (you don't have to use this , but use this if you want to be exact . In French , you don't say how they are like "How are you")
We don't really say Je m'applle . But either way works I guess .
Here , it's Je suis (Jeh swi) for "I am" . ex. Je suis FAQ . Well , je m'applle might be ok if you want to be unique I guess . I don't remember anyone saying "Je m'appelle" .
Both works if you say J'ai froid.
weekend = fin de la semaine (fin=end , de la=of the , semaine=week ... like James explained)
Ca va pas . Et toi ?Comment était ton weekend, guys?
James , pero sa mga modern bilinguals kay esagol na nila ang english ug french like sa weekend ni chinamorena . Murag taglish kung sa ato pa .
