Ug unsay naa sa Shell, naa pud na sa Petron because Shell is getting fuel sa Petron. Take example deri sa Cebu, dugay na nagclose and Shell Depot, so tanan shell stations deri are getting from fuels from Petron. Kung imong bantayan na diha sa Petron depot (under sa old bridge) you can see Shell Lorry trucks pero mga subcon nalang ni sila and wala na Shell logos.

Now this is clear that Petron has been overcharging more than Shell is doing. In Mindanao, most of the small players are all ready there, ahead than they were here in Cebu. So the big three players deli makapatuyang!

shall we consider demand?ms taas ba ang demand sa Cebu compare sa Davao and Cagayan thats why g mahal dyd dri sa cebu? (demand and supply principle)
ms taas ba ang purchasing power sa cebu compare to Luzon and Mindanao area?.........
The only person that can give closer figure here are the one from the oil companies. Bottom line, the though of varying logistics cost plays vital role in pricing fuels around the country.

Another sad truth in our country. imho, nagsalig ra jud mga politiko ug pasaka sa prices dire kay wala man sila nagpuyo dire. if ang malacaņang naa pa dire cebu, i think dili siguro ing-ani. pero basin mo over populated sad ta tungod sa development.

there is probably another side to it because most of the probable reasons do not fall into place :
    • gasoline is cheaper in Manila because it is nearer the refinery . then why is gasoline in mindanao cheaper if it is farther from the refinery ?
    • bulk shipping to mindanao sounds logical in lowering the price but when you are dealing with shipping companies, the cost is easy to negotiate especially if the destination is nearer
    • why the jump from a P1 difference to a P4 (10%) difference ? the P1 (2.5%) difference may actually be more than enough to compensate for the bulk shipping difference
could there be some local taxes or costs that have not been considered ?

a higher gasoline price here probably could be tolerated if the minimum wage was also higher than in manila

something doesn't add up . something seems to be wrong somewhere . hoping that this thread will bring light in understanding this mystery
