It's a measure of length. It's how much distance light can travel in a year.

Why do this? Well, as you can see from the sliding scale, the universe is overwhelmingly vast so it doesn't make sense to use kilometers and have so much zeros in the numbers.

I don't think it is appropriate to conclude that extraterrestials exists.
There could be a possibility that aliens exists but not proven yet.
So far, wala pa solid evidence of their existence.
OT lang neh kay basin sab-an nya ko ni Mod.. hehehe

It shows how much insignificant we are in the universe.
