I understood that you didn’t want to be part of MLM, because you heard bad stories about MLM or maybe you have bad experience in it.

    Question lang:
What made you think that talks about Mutual Funds, etc is related or connected with MLM or pyramid stuff? If yes, why did you say that?

No offense lang. I need to know on your side. =)

Why I asked this? I asked this because you used the subject “Most of us” and “we”. It means you’re included. Am I right?

Most of us dont want go to this cause we have this impression that they will sell us stuff or make as sell lol. We dont want to be part of MLM or Pyramid stuff

Ask lang ko. I'm not against about your thread. What I want is that I want it to make it clear.

Well U guys, The Financially literate probably forgot how it was To be Financially Illiterate.

When People ask u to a seminar about "FINANCIAL" , Its almost always synonymous to MLM. I mentioned it in a way where All our perceptions are like that. Pls do read my thread. Im a Total Noob in this. I never claim im an expert. This is part of the Journey where u guys react to my post and Being Labelled as "Financially Illiterate" or got scammed. Maybe u guys havent heard of someone just not familar with this and might not be "Financially Illiterate" or got scammed. Im not alone. Heck I can bring all my 45 people employees and have them be Financially Educated with u guys. matter of fact im bringing my sister and 2 friend with me to the seminar u guys offered.

If u ask me 3 months ago when i wasnt reading stuff about Mutual funds, stock and such, I will always think of it as Pyramid Scheme or u guys selling or want me to sell for u. Im not Alone.

Now As i mentioned earlier, "Financially Educated" might mean to u as knowing what u know. But in real world its not confine to that. I can Be Financially Educated If I earn more than normal People earns and manage my finances wisely. I need not go invest Stocks. To you it might be. In my case no. I just need to increase my clientele and add more people and I earn more, faster than u guys earn in a month.

But I see everyones point. thats y im planning to chronicle my journey. Hope u or anyone can help me achieve what mu goal is. And when time comes when Im considered by u guys as "Financially Educated" and i see results working for me, I like to look back to this thread and smile. This will serve as Inspiration to everyone as noob as me now and hopefully succeed in this endeavor.

    @cyraxx:

Apologies if we weren't able to take the thread the way you intended it to be. On my part, I just pointed out that the chances of not being offered something during financial talks/presentations might be slim because the people involved in it are most likely to be connected with different financial institutions.

We understand the skepticism, we all do. The terms MLM and networking are tarnished making people cautious and vigilant.

I, and others for that matter, might have reacted the way we understood the thread, we all have different ways of seeing and understanding things and I apologize for that.

You said “Pls. do read my thread”. I read your thread yesterday and asked you question so that I want to know what you really mean it. Thanks for sharing your point! =)

I really understood you, because we had same thought last three or four month ago. I want to share my story.

Last July or August in this year, I just read a thread from this website “Mutualfunds and Stock Market = money working for you by Jess” but before I read this…. I already knew what mutual fund, UITF, etc through Wealth TV Channel 28 on Sky Cable but I didn’t know the details of it, because what I watched and read from that channel is only basic information of mutual funds and other financial concepts. I started read on that thread (last 3 or 4 months ago) for research or self – study. Honestly, I didn’t have financial knowledge on that time. When someone posted a financial management talk, First thing come to my mind is that “Is it a free financial management talks?”. Second, Is it about MLM? Some of MLM Companies have a talk about financial but not really financial management or education that IMG shares all about. If they do then “The MLM Companies will stay longer” but sadly they don’t. (Point of View). Third, I’m interested on Unit Investment Trust Fund (UITF) but I’m not interested of MF on that time. I contacted that person who posted about financial management talk and he invited me. Because of my CURIOSITY about the talk, I attended it.

During the talk that I attended August 7, 2010, they discussed rule of 72 (compounding interest which is also related to Mutual Fund), x – curve (you work for money or money works for you.).etc. There lot of things discussed on that day.

After the talk, I liked it, because it gave me more knowledge about financial life of a person.

I share my story, not to convince you, but to clarify things about financial literacy talk.

Once again, cyraxx, thanks for sharing your point. =)

    I really appreciate it. =)

MLM Companies won't discuss Mutual Funds, because it is not connected or product to them. Cheers!
