I agree, legal tax evasion, but in a good way, kaysa e corrupt sa mga politiko. Child adoption is also another good way

yeah right... one way to evade tax is doing charitable deeds. but this is still a win-win solution both for the govt and the company which will benefit for the beneficiary.

Actually, these companies do not get back all the money they spend on CSR as tax breaks. Some of it may qualify as a business expense but its a myth that they recover all of it as tax breaks. At most, money spent on CSR is a deductible item in the computation of their taxable income.

So, NO, it is not "legal tax evasion".

I'm not saying that all of these companies are altruistic and are doing it entirely out of kindness. Some do it for marketing. But it would be wrong also to think that these companies earn or save money by doing this. They don't.

agree. not 100% mababawi pero nakakabawas yan sa tax. imbis na sa govt, tumutulong nalang sila. this is a very good way to help people kasi pag sa tax, hindi mo naman sure kung sa taumbayan mapupunta. peace +)

*yan pala yun smiley for live positively haha. nabasa ko somewhere.

In terms of CSR, we should be proud of Cebu's very own Aboitiz companies. Sikat ni sila when it comes to supporting communities. I know a lot of Aboitiz Foundation scholars, then Aboitiz pud sponsor sa football competition diri.
