It show's the real face of the philippine politics nowadays,
its about showing might, power, and wealth.
The supposed ideal ones, like sincere servitude and love of country are way out of sight.
I think fanaticism plays a great rule, we always look up to persons who had higher status
in society than to those who are willing enough to serve.

I hope that this emerging culture would die out in the next generations to come, for this act is
counterproductive and very egoist in nature and can be considered as a source of fear and violence.

Ako nagdako ko sa MIndanao and I have several politician relatives. Either bawal na or deli, kinahanglan gyud ka ug proteksyon on top sa PNP. May it be private armies (large numbers) or small scale body guard system, kinahanglan gyud na. I'm not saying na my cuzn has private armies, but yes they do have private body guards with long arms. Maski pa unsa ka straight ang politician, naa gyud gihapon ka threat. It doesn't mean na if straight ka (deli corrupt) wala na kay contra. The more ka straight, the more ka daghan contra! Bcoz the drug lords, masiaw financier, smugglers, illegal loggers, and etc will still be hunting you down. If corrupt pud ka, then daghan pud ka kontra. So mao na kinahanglan ka body guards or private army (large scale) if you enter politics in Mindanao. Otherwise gansi ka sa imong political rival.

dili tanan balaod sa america mu-apply dinhi sa pilipinas.

uyon ko ni jojo_mouth. naay uban nga nidagan ug posisyon dinha sa mindanao kahibalo na unsa ilang gisudlan. kahibalo na sila sa mga peligro so andam na gyud na sila daan. ako pasabot, na-acquire na nila ilang mga armas sa wala pa sila nabutang sa posisyon. daghan man ana nila nga maayo na pagkahimutang na daan so naa gyud silay resources. tinuod gyud nga naay gyuy prejudice ang mga tao kung maghisgot na gani ug politiko labi na gikan sa mindanao. na-generalize dayon nga ingon ana kunohay nga hambugiro, corrupt, hangol, pangwartahay. daghan mga bagong nidagan dinha kay naa nay mga threats daan sa pagkahibalo sa ilang kontra nga mudagan sila pagkamayor o congressman. kung wala silay mga armas sa pagdagan pa lang, dako ang posibilidad nga patay gyud na sila. so people with good intentions have no choice but to arm themselves. actually i have heard of instances that some part in northern mindanao is really getting better. the relations between muslims and christians are being mended and good results are being enjoyed by the people. there is one municipality there that in the previous administration no income was coming in and the place was in debt and the place was being run to the ground. karon kay naa na silay income and more are coming in and the building of their first market and bus station are being worked on as well. with all this, the mayor is getting threats just for the fact that the people he beat in the last election didn't win(na tarog ilang garbo) and don't want him to go forth with his plans with the municipalities. mindanao is big place. all the more reason nga dili ta angay mu-generalize. there are still a lot of people who only want what is good for their place and for the people living there. and these people who are in office and actually doing something good but still getting threats have the right to protect themselves and their family.

btaw i get ur point, gawas na gasto kaau n kuyaw pud mo traydor kay ga gunit bya nag armas but dey r form out of need, bisan ako kung pwde lng wlay private army n tanan tao mo follow lng sa law wy should i burden myself of taking responsibility of having an army.. bout sa problem sa mindanao, its not bcoz private army but tungod sa mga rebelde or tao nga tapulan mag isug2x pra mangikil, harass sa mga negosyante, etc, actualy kanang army ni ampatuan, nabuhat na tungod sa mnlf, if wala pa ng mnlf wala jud private armies, kana lng ni abusar, of course they shall b liable...

kanang mindanao kung walay rebelde dha, ok kaau na, isug lng ang mga tapulan dha mao mag harass pra makakwarta gamay ra pud ang mga pulis dats wy nay private army, security, boys, etc
