    Deja Vu Nvidia 8000-9000?

    The midrange cards of the 6000 series doesn't look too good. 2x6pin is not midrange.

    On the other side, here's another stupid move by Nvidia after Nvidia booted BFG:
    XFX Officially No Longer a Partner of Nvidia - X-bit labs

    I don't have trust in any of these GPU makers anymore.

    @personalmgt
    it really depends on what standards you are referring to when it comes to mid range.... (e.g. for me 5870 is LOW END or possibly 5770 is EXTREMELY high end)......

    You're really confusing me on what you're trying to say. I'm wondering if you're referring to the naming convention or the common division of low/mid/high or the rest (read: common. not based on bias). Regardless...

    Like what the rumors has been saying, the HD 6870 is meant to replace the 5770 and NOT the ENTIRE mid range market (see: nvidia). Can you remember what made HD 5770 mid range? Price: Check, Small PCB: Check, Low Power Consumption: Check, 1x6pin connection: Check.

    You are definitely seeing the next generation of AMD's video cards and we're still seeing the mid range cards. If all of the rumors are true and if my assumptions on the gap of the low and high end cards are true, then I have to say that AMD has failed to deliver a REAL mid range card in terms of power. Now, we replace HD 5770 with the 6870 on the checklist. Price: Cross (if its really $332), Small PCB: Cross, LPC: Cross, 1x6pin: Cross.
