OK...I will meet with the Officers of IRO and I will develop a petition. I agree also that the government does not provide any public parks except Family Park in the north and I heard they also banned dogs. IRO wants to also deal with them. What we need is a dog park! IRO is working on that also. But please in order for us to prevail and for businesses to begin to see there is a "market" to serve dog lovers, we too have to be responsible and bring those plastic bag to pick up their poop. I took my dog to Arcenas and it had "poop mines" around which pissed me off. I was just thankful I didn't fall down walking my dog (who is big) and landed on poop! Will keep you updated...I have prelims this week but once we get the ok from the officers will develop the petition.

what do you want to happen, force the IT Park admin to let you walk your dogs there? it is a private property and they can impose any policy they want as long as it is within the bounds of the law. there is no law prohibiting private establishments to prevent dogs and other animals within their premises, right? have u come to think how many of you, during your regular walks, have brought with you poop-bags so that whenever your beloved dogs poop, you can pick it up and throw it to its proper place? some? a few? none? but certainly not all!

    petition? come'on gimme a break!

hehehehe. almost always sad kada anha namo IT park with our dogs ginabadlong me. pero we always reasoned and always get away with it. hehehehehe nakaila nalang namo ang guard. hahahahahaha. ingon sila man gud, dili jud na bawal sa una, until naay jogger na napaakan ug iro. nireklamo ang mga jogger mismo. usually pag toy breeds on leash, ila ra man ginatolerate. ingon gani to guard na magdala lang daw mi ug dog carrier next time, para if naa magroving, ipasulod lang daw sa carrier. hehehehe

bitaw, naa sad point, private man ang IT park. siguro not more of a petition but siguro request or unsa ba kaha na ang iya tenor is hangyo and friendly not demanding.

We certainly cannot IMPOSE that IT Park change their rules, whatever they are, but do keep in mind that IT Park will also rely on their customers, whether people who flock to The Walk, those who jog, and even those who lease offices in there If they do not respect, and maybe in a way neglect those who use them and help generate their income, then certainly little by little people will not go there anymore if they can see something better. The reason why there are lot of offices opening there is, of course, because of its ambiance and because people easily go and want to go there. So what do you think will happen if no one wants to go there anymore? What will happen if it will no longer become everyone's hang out.. What would happen if someone built a similar structure on the the reclamation area? Of course, didto na mag open ang future businesses and didto nasad mamalhin ang mga call centers. didto nasad mangaon ang mga tao and didto nasad mag jogging ang mga people.. though my ideas are purely hypothetical but can be likely to happen if they do not take petitions seriously.. as previous posters or even powerful people who are heads of organizations (like IRO) said, people can boycott, have boycott, and will have boycott if petitions are not taken seriously

What is just so funny about something so serious as a petition? It is the most civilized way to deal with the issue!
If you feel so strongly against bringing pets there just because owners do not pick up after their dogs then certainly the solution is to promulgate the rule of picking up after your dogs!
What is so wrong about the little request? It will not lose income for them but will add another market of customers there.

i dont see any problem if the management of IT Park will stand pat on their policy of no dog walking within their premises, it is their premises and they can impose reasonable policies and guidelines they see fit to protect their properties and customers.

in as much as there was already an incident of somebody getting bitten by a dog, it is justifiable for the management to impose this policy. besides, i dont think IT park was built with a "dog-walking park" included in their mind at that time. we just have to live with it and look for other venues more friendly to us and our dogs.
