Not really excited.
It's a tactical rpg game. And the ability to pause the game and position your squad for a tactical advantage is the best feature for me in DA:O.
There alot of game genres out there. All games should not be console focused (3rd person, first person, racing). That is why most PS3 and Xbox player who played Origins would say it is boring since DAO is best experienced on a PC with a mouse with tactical view (overhead perspective - not 3rd person) since again - it's a tactical rpg game and is not a cup of tea for everybody. The sad thing is most players say it's boring, stale, long, not exciting since they don't like this play style but they forget not every player are too hot with 3rd person action games, first person shooters, racing, or the like.

Based on the GI article they are hinting of a Mass Effect type of game where you get to play a hero that you can customize not create or import the character you create in Origins. Dragon Age is not for everyone and I hope Bioware doesn't forget where their success is rooted from (Baldur's Gate) and not make Dragon Age a Mass Effect type of game (3rd person action rpg).
