the 8500GT is like a 7300GT in terms of speed while the 9500GT is supposedly a little bit faster than the 8600GT (ddr2). go figure![]()
This is only true if you are comparing the same chips with different memory sizes.
Example: 9500GT 512MB vs 9500GT 1GB
But, it will be another story if your comparing different chips.
Example: 8500GT with 1GB of memory is no match to 8800GTX with only 768MB of memory.
look first into the chip used then on the amount of memory.
know the chips number of shader cores, core clocks, shader clocks, memory clocks, ROPs, memory interface, texture fillrate,..etc
see reviews and benchmarks, then decide.
8500gt is weak compared to 9500gt even if the latter has 1gb mem. i have tried those 2 videocards and the difference is noticeable specially with the new games
even a 100gb 8500gt, superficially speaking, is still inferior to the 512mb 9500 gt... it's never about the memory in the first place, no questions asked.
9500gt is faster than 8500gt. check,
Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart : Best Graphics Cards For The Money: May 2010
9500 gt proven and tested been using it for a year and a half and is still good as it gets old..^_^..
sorry about that last post i made...
better use 9500GT
im using it too..
Love it so much db
