Yups no worries this is just a healthy discussion...ako lang sad i-open ang other side kay para nako depends ra siguro kong unsa na klasi na congenital defect og unsa ka dako ang risk ani...! dili sad nato pwedi ma tann na if naay congenital defect ang dogs dili na dayon sya for breeding...case to case basis sad siguro kong unsa na klasi na defect og unsa ka taas risk na dala ani na sakit...

Like example lang sad nato.. High Blodd Pressure or Hypertension is a cogenital man diba..so its unfair man sad na ingnon nato na tanang naay High Blood Pressure dili na pwedi manganak kay this is a congenital na sakit og dako chance na iyang mga anak magka sakit ani sad....my point here is depends siguro sa unsa na klasi na congenital na sakit..kay mao sad siguro na ang ubang Canine Org. nag hatag og consideration..but still naa jud mga do's & don'ts..and yups mas better jud siguro if dili nalng pero still open for a consideration...

gud day.@badme: ur statement with regards to cherry eye & some breeding points made by the CERF are true & in some thought,correct.but my opinion is this,as an owner/breeder/exhibitor "the only REASON for breeding dogs is to improve the breed of ur fancy(in this case the am.cocker spaniel) both in HEALTH,TEMPERAMENT & CONFORMATION (functional).did u get ur dog for the purpose of a pet or show/breeding animal?if pet,then why breed him/her?if in any case u breed affected dogs with congenital anomalies,in what way will it improve its breed?or rather will it be a thought that pondered in ur mind that ur affected pet dog would partially contribute to the "diseased' canine population deletiriously carrying the affected gene pool?in the advanced countries like the US,breeders put an array of health tests before breeding their dogs (aside from conformation titles),and even champion dogs who fail in health tests are subjected to neutering.they do this to safeguard the breed for both obvious & less obvious congenital health problems.so why breed a dog if its in the "obvious" state of health trouble?do we really have to breed a dog of that state of health,just because it happened to be our beloved pet & its what our fulfillment needs rather than what the breed of our dog needs & the necessary health reminders taught us?but in the long run,its really up to the owner in which path he/she will follow in the world of breeding dogs,his perception & standard of breeding or the right way in breeding dogs with health,temperament & functional conformation in mind

Well para nako...having my dog is for a pet jud..but still same with others.. even purpose nimo pang pet ra imo dog we are still open na ibreed sya for some reasons..Now with the case sako dog ganahan sad jud ko maka kita sa ilang liwat kay if not..dugay nani nako gipa kapon ako dog....!

I understand the concern with regards with my dog situation pero still I am not closing my door na ibreed ako dog if naa chance as long as I follow the do's & don'ts lang jud according to CERF...infact even sila nag hatag sad consideration....maliban nalng jud if sila ni ingun na dili jud. Og isa pa this is really common to this kind of dogs....so dili jud sad nato malikayan ni sa ila kay sila man jud na mga breed commonly magka ing-ani.... Yup naa jud chance na isa or pipila sa ilang anak magka ing-ani..pero I am thinking sad sa other side na how about isa sad sa iyang mga anak mamahimong usa ka nindot na klasi na cocker og mamahino og sinugdanan sa nindot na mga lines? we never know.....isa pa the reason sad sigruo why ni hatag consideration ang CERF ani na situation kay dili mani jud sya grabi kaayo na situation compare sa other na congenital na sakit sama sa sakit sa utok..and etc...

nalibog ko sa imo statement, "common ni cya sa breed",mao di nato kalikayan"..mao na common cya kay due to the unethical breeding practices done by unscrupulous breeders, which we could help eradicate as breeders kay kita man mas kahibaw ug unsay dapat.daghan man ug cocker y not get a new,unaffected breeding stock if ur interested in breeding.u are a member of IRO ryt,as i noticed in ur avatar & part of IRO's program is controlling pet over population & cruelty at the same time.unethical breeding is actually part of cruelty towards mans bestfriend also basically because due to health reasons,it deprived the animal of a normal healthy life together with its future progenies to come.
ug kana pud imong 'future thought' na "bsg maka produce ug nindot na cocker in the future"...well it could be or not.kay come to think of it,even completely healthy dogs could produce a health & conformation throwback,how much more affected dogs,di ba nga obvious na ang flaw?how much more if ang would be female partner na mgpastud sa imo dog pohon kay carrier pud,so ma dominant na ang deleterious genes?

Mean to say Commonly affected breeds include the Bulldog, chihuahua, Cocker Spaniel, Beagle, Pekingese, Neapolitan Mastiff, and Basset Hound... all cases of cherry eyes probs ani na mga dogs gikan ni sa mga unethical breeding practices done by unscrupulous breeders? is that what you mean sir?

It depends sad siguro kong unsa na klasi na sakit sir....dili sad nato pwedi itanan..mao bitaw naay mga Canine Org na nag tan-aw regarding ani..kay if mao man sad gani ni TOTALLy NO for breeding nalang jud tana sila ani...instead na tagaan nila consideration..


But yes I really understand your point..and I really appreciate your concern..I my self mag duha duha sad ko but still I am not closing my door incase ibreed sya....why because naa koy nakita na daghan na good quality sako dog ang ganahan ko maka kita sa iya liwat.... infact naa na sya liwat...and with the idea of getting another cocker? no need coz I am not a purely breeder..cherry eye probs with the dogs is not that really big or serious problem after all coz it can be fixed.

BTW, I just really want to know lang jud about ani na situation and to hear some comments from other people sad...so we will learn a lot....I just really want to gather more ideas about this situation....labi na sa topic na regarding sa breeding....
