Agree, naa koy kaila nagpa sunday shoot sila family & ni grab dayon ko sa opportunity for the heck of 'experience'. Wa jud ko intention ato magpabayad kay NOOB pa kaau but before i knew it, gipadalhan kog $100.

point is, shooting your friends for free pra maka practice is a good start. then later on, if nana kay clients, confident na ka mo hatag sa imong presyo.

@harvz : nindot keu imong site, congrats!

    OnT :

@sir britsy : thanks for the heads up, I'm taking note & will be more aware of those client bluffs. haha

this is the reason why some "clients" say this line...

“If you don’t want to do it for us for free, I know several others who will;”
there are other ways of gaining experience than giving it for free... e.g. shoot imong kapamilya (but para sa ako up to 1st degree only), be a back up photographer, shoot with your friends / shoot your close friend/s...

    -----------------------------------------------------------

para nako i'd rather shoot ang iring sa among silingan nga manungkab sa among sud-an than shoot with clients who undervalue photographers... bahalag matay-an akong camera...

"photographers" nga muhatag og free or palabi og dive sa ilang presyo, not only hurt ilang self in the long run but will also affect ang mga photographer/s nga mao na ilang panginabuhi... and most of all, hurting the photography industry in general...

pero wa tay mahims... this people do really exist(para lang gyud ingnon nga daghan silag shoot)... bato-bato sa langit ang tamaan ayaw nalag react kay masakpan mo... hehehehehe

here is a thread in DPP worth reading...

Are You a Photographer Worth Six Thousand Pesos?Peace

but for those who already relied on hours of photoshop and still couldn't improve their photos, well time to change and step up to the game

    bwaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaha! mukang madaming tatamaan dyan

I agree with most of my fellow photographers and buddies here...

go cheap if you want to be marked cheap
go free if you are on charity
go for high price if you are sure on what you are doing...

    cheers!

sakto jud ni na thread! nice one britz...

cover ka event for 8 hours and they will just pay you 2k for full coverage... dako pa jud chance ma disgrasya imo gears, if ma tumba imo flash kuwang ra imo nakwarta para paayo or palit ug flash... usik pa jud imo oras...

If dili maka afford dili dawaton.
