Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1550:Originally Posted by edgeknife
This presence of Christ in the minister is not to be understood as if the latter were preserved from all human weaknesses, the spirit of domination, error, even sin. The power of the Holy Spirit does not guarantee all acts of ministers in the same way. While this guarantee extends to the sacraments, so that even the minister's sin cannot impede the fruit of grace, in many other acts the minister leaves human traces that are not always signs of fidelity to the Gospel and consequently can harm the apostolic fruitfulness of the Church.
The last statement fits you snugly. Yet, you must know that the same Catechism says in paragraph 1324:
The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." "The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch."
You deny yourself the Eucharist. You see the faults of the priests. By doing both acts, what good have you done?
When did they claim perfection?Originally Posted by iloveyou4ever
By saying that the person is hypocrisy personified, you are believing that there is nothing in and of the person that is good. Really? How did you know? Why so sweeping an accusation?Originally Posted by fingolfin
People judge priest even before they are given an opportunity to explain their side. Its so sad really. Here is one radio commentator who highlight the alleged abuses of a certain priest in Santander. He ridiculed the priest in his program calling him names.
Now lets compare it to a politician or a powerful person who is accused of rape. I doubt if this radio commentator could ridicule the said powerful person the way he ridiculed the priest.
The priests are singled out because unlike a powerful drug lord or politician or any other personality, priest wont fight back.
My point is let justice take its course before we condemned the priest.
^^mao na ni karon? i-compare na nato ang priest to a drug lord ug politician...unsaon.....
... why, is it wrong to talk directly to God and not listen to this hypocritical priest??Originally Posted by dacs

the cardinal has a reputation for caution in the midst of controversy. we already know that he dont throw any comments without hearing the other side of the coin or while investigations are still going on.Originally Posted by budmendz
and if the priest stays in that town or at least says something about the issue do you thing it would do gud? what do u think would happen to the people esp those who have lil faith upon constantly hearing this issue?
i think one of the reason of our beloved cardinal's act is fair trial and avoid trial by publicity.
konsentidor is just an overstatement.

.... check out dacs post on the excerpt of "Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1550:"
i guess wat dacs wanted to say that just because the priest is a sinner you dont go to the church anymore, you dont take the eucharist or even hear the mass anymore.
