check the power adaptor. if theres a supply then its ur batt.
have you tried charging the laptop when turned off?
there is this shop in SM who sells CQ40 laptops named PCLIVE.i think they would be kind enough to help you just figure out whats wrong with your laptop. tell them that you have a friend who bought a laptop from them. try bringing your laptop there and ask them if they can test new batteries to your laptop. if it charges then your battery is the problem. if not then ask them for their battery adaptor to plug to your pc. if it works then your adaptor is the problem.
there is this shop in the middle just across octagon i think who sell repacked battery. you can check them as well.
battery like li ion batteries when not used for a long time needs a kick or needs to be revived to work again.
a drained lithium ion is good as dead, but a try to kick power in would be a good idea. there's no harm in trying anyway.the only question is, HOW to do it correctly.
laptop batteries have logic boards built in for protections, voltage regulators and etc. Even Cellphone batteries have small ones.![]()
if you need cq40 battery, just txt or pm me. 09085073608

mine is lenovo G470 and have this issue, im having 2nd thoughts on reseting it for it may damage the battery, any solution?, going to the service center wont help either, this has been occuring for couple of years already and the same answer from lenovo support... i got my laptop last week..
i can only charge the battery if i manually change the power option settings, but its not recommended... right now its just keeping it self in 50% power... unya dili na siya mo ubos...
this might also be a software issue rather than a battery issue, the software and battery might have not synchronize properly coz it happen when i remove the battery and use the AC, just like what i always do on my other laptop...
