No, no, no. The BIGGEST MISTAKE of IBM for me was when they bought LOTUS and then THEY LET LOTUS DEVELOP THEIR APPLICATIONS FOR WINDOWS FIRST BEFORE OS/2!

At the time, Windows 95 was nowhere in sight, still being promised by Bill Gates, whereas OS/2 Warp was already out and sparked a lot of interest. Unsaon ta man, WALA MA'Y APPLICATIONS ANG WARP? So they bought Lotus, which was competing very solidly against Microsoft Office at the time... and the rest is history.

In case your wondering what Lotus is up to now, they are following the OpenOffice model napud and developing their software for Linux, FINALLY! IBM must have hired someone with common sense.

simply bcoz at that time, the IBM powerPC cant reach 3ghz without burning the wall and hitting the ceiling.

thats why they put watercooling in their 3ghz Mac G5

No, Windows was from Xerox. DOS was from that company that became Digital R____ something, that's why there was DR DOS. I used to have PC DOS which was the straight from IBM version. Microsoft's was MS DOS. I may have my diskettes somewhere.... anyone want them?

That was described as the point in time when the biggest fortune in the world was made, when Bill Gates convinced IBM that they should get DOS from him.

they did brought the rights from a company named scp for $50k. the software was first named Qdos but microsoft changed it to msdos after they brought the rights.
