whatever the purpose sa imo rig, i advice goin for 785g chipset with sb710 or 750 southbridge, then a dual-core cpu(at least 2.5ghz) would do. the rest pour into better ddr3 videocard and powersupply...

well sa imo motherboard selections, its an old chipset designed for older AM2 processors which should have died together with socket754. and it doesnt support the required HT-Link requirement for those AM2+ or AM3 cpu's which in return could have significant effect on overall performance.

you could get a lower dualcore AM2+/AM3 processor and get a better motherboard as this is the foundation of your system.
