hey, I was planning to buy a cheap digital camera that is below 10k. I saw a 6 or 8 megapixel nga ang brand kay vivitar. Durable na ciya? thanks guys

ah ok. I was just amazed by its prize that is below 10k and it has i think 6 to 8.1 mega pixel. I checked their website which is www.vivitar.com. I think this brand is from california I think. Hope you can help me with this guys. Thanksjavascript:void(0);

vivitar has been known over the years for their flash units, lenses, and filters.  but in terms of digicams they're quite the rookie. and they don't make their own digicams...  they get them from other manufacturers and rebadge them as their own.  I doubt they would be durable and don't expect any customer service support here.  but if you just want a cheap digicam to take quick snapshots then ok.

but at 10,000 you can get good quality Kodak and Pentax compact point and shoot digicams already albeit they'd be the 5 megapixel models of last year or so... but good cameras none the less.

and take tolstoi's advice and check dpreview.com but remember to check elsewhere for the current prices as prices shown on the site were the current prices of camera's review date.

but when looking for a camera find one that fits you.  a 6~8 megapixel camera would be overkill if you mostly print 4r's or use them on a website.  I've had good 8x12 and even a few 10x15 prints made from an old 2 megapixel Kodak.

@sir abortretryfail..are your 10x15 prints don't get pixelated? considering that you only get less than 3000 pixel size from a 2Meg cam and you need at least 3200 pixels for that print size.

my 3.2meg cam is only great on 8x10 prints, with 180-300 dpi resizing on Photoshop CS2.
