limes already answered for me, yes 5770 is a newer generation.

To be honest, 1 month is not enough for fermi to come here, you do know we are in ASIA ? we don't get the same launch date like other countries?

When the Nvidia's GTX 295 and ATI's 5970 came out, we had to wait for 1 to 2 months after the launch date for it arrive here in the Philippines. Of course if you are going to order in the US then thats another thing, paying for shipping and the warranty concerns? thats another topic.


So take note, if you can wait 1-2 or even 3 months for FERMI, then go for it!

You can't go wrong really. There is so much choice and competition, it's a great time to be a video card buyer what with ATI rolling out new models every few months and Nvidia slashing prices and unlocking hardware. Let's just hope that the software guys can deliver and make all these upgrades worthwhile.

I bought a GTX260 recently and I'm very happy with it's performance (compared with my old 8800GTS). ATI/Nvidia... it's all good these days!

Don't know, but the HD5830 is not the card as what was expected. Performance is close to that of an HD5770 but the price leans close towards the HD5850. Unless you got anything higher than a 1080p monitor, then I suggest you go for an HD5770/GTX 260. These cards are good enough to run most games at 1080p.
