Based on the pics, I have to admit the 1201T and 1201N looks sleek compared to the U230. I have to see it in actual tho.

I would opt for the specs rather than the looks unless iya na ipa-apil sa beauty contest ang netbook. Unsaon man ang looks if hinay ang performance.

chakto ka bro pero gi-apil man nako sa factors ang brand & build quality in which mas maayo ang asus in my opinion.

so it's not just beauty vs performance...

it is beauty+brand+build quality vs performance

Could you please post your CPU-Z screenshot of your U230 para ma-hibawan gyud if MV40 (single core) ba gyud or L335 (dual core) ba gyud ang gigamit sa U230?

BTW MV-40 is only single core

Proof -> AMD Athlon Neo for Ultrathin Notebooks MV-40 - AMGMV40OAX4DX

    Number of cores 1
    Only L335 is dual core

If U230 is really using L335, then U230 is a better choice since it's using a more powerful processor (1201T has been confirmed to only use the lower MV-40) and has a HDMI port (in case you want output HD movies to a friend's HDTV )

MSI ain't that bad, they've been making performance notebooks at a cheaper price. In fact kasagara nako makita nga naay dedicated vc kay MSI ra, at a cheaper price. If you can find a dual core variant sa asus, then go with it. You can't go wrong with either the ATI HD3200 or the Nvidia Ion as onboard, halos pareha ra sila ug performance. Naay service center dha sa MSI ug Asus?

yes ok raman ang msi para nako bro, in fact i have msi wind u100 and ang office laptop pud sa ako mom is also msi. pero point lang nako, is in my personal rankings sa brand choice asus would probably be top 1 or 2 while msi would probably be top 3 to 5.

where im located, walay service center both asus and msi.

personal experience (maybe timing-timing lang ni pud):
    1. also personal experience lang nako pud. nadaot ang one partition sa ako hardisk of msi wind, the hardisk was a wd scorpio pero lapaw na one year and dili na mu cover ang msi. we even tried to warranty the hardisk only sa western digital pero dili na sila mudawat coz package man daw to sa msi wind.
    2. msi pr200 of a friend also nadaot ang lcd display after just a little bit over one year.

im not actually avoiding msi laptops as a brand, i just rank it lower than asus. kanang neo jud nga brand i what i would avoid.

actually nalibog pako gamay. pero final decision sa ako cousin, ako nalang i-explain jud niya tanan details, unya depende na niya. thanks sa inyo suggestions.

Im assuming that AMDŽ Yukon CPU MV40 and L335 Processor are the same kay mao man ang nakabutang sa iya specifications sa ila website. Please correct me if Im wrong kay if that is the case, duha diay ang option sa processor para sa U230.

    Here's my screenshot.

I think sayop to pagka butang sa ilang website.

Either that or naay variants sa U230 that use Single core MV40 anf the Dual Core L335
