Focus and Escape made proudly in RP. here's the link Ford Philippines - Newsroom

Mazda 3 looks great and some say it's basically the same driving dynamics as the Ford Focus because they share the same platform as well as the Volvo (don't really understand this though). I'm no car enthusiast or guru, but I just find the offering by Ford as of the moment to be the most bang for the buck with free insurance and 3-years LTO with not too shabby interior and tolerable exterior = a little luxury for a sane price. Usa lang ka airbag.

No other specific problems with Focus 1.8 A/T Hatch, anyone? Also, I'm particularly interested to find experiences if Ford Cebu's aftersales service and parts availability is topnotch.

i dont have a focus but my car's also a ford so i cant tell you anything about the car except their after-sales service, based on exprience its very very good labi na sa mga regular PMS. dali rapud kaayo maka claim ug warranty and insurance wala nay hasul esp if in house sila na asikaso tanan. with regards to parts and accessories, as long as its available dali rapud pero problem is kung wala ngari cebu, you have to wait 2-3 weeks for it to be shipped from their factory in manila. also if your car needs a repair/part replacement, expect it to be inside the casa for at least 2 weeks or 10 business days and you need to schedule it with them beforehand. dugay and hasle kaayo but thats normal for them kay daily daghan kau sila gi atiman na mga sakyanan not sure if ingani pud sa uban casa but sa mga repair shops lang 2-3 days raman usually depende sa job order and pwed ra walk-in wala na schedule-schedule. ive had both good and bad experiences with their service but its good most of the time. id still love to get a ford for my next car.

is this normal compared with other casas from other car brands? also, is there a repair shop here that is exceptionally competent with ford automobiles (i really hate trial and miss scenarios; lots of horror stories from other istoryans) and uses original parts if ever there's something that needs replacement? sensya na, this is my first time buying a car with my own moolah.

@c_cebrecus: i'm just following my heart here. that is the reason for the ford hatch. kay kung naay daghan bati comments >> i'd go straight to altis 1.6V just to be on the safer side of things.

googled it and yes, they say it is a common problem with the focus especially after 3 years of use. some complained that even the ford dealership didn't have hose replacements even in the US; others did a DIY. the search turned up this issue with ford focus 1999 - 2003 (1st generation?). anyway, i'll try talking with the ford mechs when i've decided. thanks for the heads-up.
