Hahaha my God this law is incredibly stupid. First of all, if two gay people were to get "married" their marriage would not be considered legitimate under the present law, hence they would not actually be married at all as their marriage would be void from the beginning. Hence, it's redundant to forbid gay marriage when the act of gays marrying is in itself already an impossibility as our Civil Code does not recognize it. How then can the gays be penalized for marrying if they cannot actually get married in the first place? They would only be able to get into the motions of marrying but would not actually be married. Huna-hunaa lang =P

People who are cheering this on need to look at themselves and wonder what the difference is between themselves and the Taliban. This law has nothing to do with decency or morals, but is intended as a cheap vote-winning tactic by the politicians involved in order to either 1) curry favor with the Church which seeks to control society and 2) win votes from similarly-minded bigots. This is simply one of the many reasons why our country will never be a developed nation, we are a country full of simpletons easily fooled by cheap tactics like this. I mean seriously, the law penalizes something that cannot be done with 15 years which is a more severe penalty than that imposed for corruption offenses. It seems people's flawed moral compass is the real perversion here.

I'd rather have a country run like hell by straight simpletons than by one run like heaven by queers...

Is that a mature response? That seems childish. How would you know he has the option to migrate to another country? It is my belief that migration is an incredibly difficult thing to achieve for most Filipinos because very few countries want immigrants who do not have the proper education, skills and training that they demand. You don't know anything about him so you wouldn't be privy to the particular situation or his suitability for migration.

Also you seem to impliedly admit that our country indeed is a piece of hell for most Filipinos. It is only a paradise for tourists (unless they are Koreanas who get raped) but not for ordinary people. In any case, I would personally much prefer that corrupt and people with substandard education be forced to migrate to Africa than for educated people to migrate. Wouldn't you?

Because he (?) or she (?), whatever, said - "i'm living in one of the poorest and most corrupt country in the world. This is hell in here!"

In short, heaven might be there on another side of the world - another country, perhaps - which is friendly with, well...you know...

And who said that the country should be run by queers? As a matter of fact, I don't see any evidence here that shows that a person who is a simpleton and hates gays cannot possibly himself be gay. There are a lot of people who hate gays to appear macho even though they are themselves obviously gay. I would think that a secure, straight person would be able to say that a law is discriminatory and unnecessary without being afraid of being called gay. Unless of course the people involved are not only simpletons but children. We are adults, hence must act like one.

Or to put it simply: You are not straight just because you support an anti-gay bill, but you are definitely gay if you screw someone of the same ***. The definition of gay or straight is not related to political stance. If you're going to call everyone who doesn't support this bill gay, then you should also accept the possibility that people will call you an insecure closet gay. At the end of the day gay is gay, straight is straight. This law is gay.

hahaha..you make me laugh. what kind of analysis is that?

Er... what are you disputing anyway and which analysis? Are you disputing that a gay person is someone who screws the same s3x or are you disputing the possibility that a person's political stance is not related to his or her being a gay or lesbian?

What I said was very simple, what makes someone gay is their sexual tendency, not their political beliefs. That's why many priests are gays, even though their religion forbids it, and why a lot of people like you might appear to hate gays but in reality actually be gay as well. I'm not saying you're gay, I'm saying it is possible... since I don't know you. So don't get offended, hahahaa...
